Design Dilemma Living Room

Open Living room, kitchen and dining room

Hi everyone.i am working on my two store'y house, i wanted to have an open Living room, kitchen and dining room, i am quite confuse whether I was able to maximize the whole space on the GF, do you think that the kitchen and dining is too big. Also, I don't know if the laundry room (GL 3 - E) is appropriate in that location of the house. Another one is, do you think that if i use a folding door instead of sliding door in living room will make the area more spacious? As I want to use the carport as extension of my living room. Hope you could help me on this. Many thanks guys and more power to all of you.

I also attached the elevation plans.. I am not sure if the size of windows are too big or still small, all windows are cantilevered (with slab on top and bottom)

Kitchen and dinning area could be smaller.

The laundry ideally should be easily accessed, preferably close to the kitchen.

Will the carport be parked with a vehicle for the majority of time? If so it might not be ideal to have the living room looking at the carport that is covered without much daylight.

My personal preference is for seamless hardwood throughout (except bathrooms), but it is just that--a personal preference. Many people prefer tile in their kitchen and hardwood floors through the rest of the house, or some other combination of floorings. Even though it seems like there are so many photographs on Houzz of seamless floors throughout, remember than whenever you are seeing a kitchen with a tile floor the chances are good that the rest of the house is not that same tile. So even though you aren't seeing the seams in the photos, many have them.

Hello Cody, If the TV isn't going on the mantle wall than the only other available wall is the 13'5" wall. You might think about moving the TV to this wall and balancing it with art or plants. Your sofa can be turned with its back to the entrance/stairs and a small console table can be placed behind it to act as a visual stop. Your chair can be placed where the sofa currently sits or you could add a pair of new chairs to this area near the stair alcove which would create a smaller seating cluster there. Small benches could be placed in front of the fire for additional seating, when and if necessary. This one is a challenge, but if you don't mind the TV as focal point and the sofa perpendicular to the fireplace, this could work. Depending on budget, a glass guard that cascades past the dining room level would feel very modern. The attached image isn't the same condition but should give a good idea on the detail.
