Design Dilemma Lighting

Lighting in room with steeple roof

I have a bedroom with high steeple. I have problems with the lightings. To do cove..? Amy suggestion or anyone with similar issue?

Pictures would help. But the advantage of a tall sloping roof is that uplighters will allow the light to travel up along the slope and you might be able to hide lights in the upper beams as well?

Mirrors to make it dissapear. Red paint to make it a feature. With a television or a screen so you have too smaller rooms. With a low surrond table/benches so that it is a centrepiece. With columns/stripes elsewhere in the room so that they repeat the theme it creates. With the wall colour as if it is a non issue. With a chainsaw so it goes way. With outward-facing lights so it is too glary to look at any way. With same curtains that are acoss the windows so that it is camoflaged and looks less substantial. With one of those weird-sounding-named perspective pictures so that you can enjoy looking "through" it from one or more particular places. As a Greek column so that you can convey that you undertand and participate in ironic postmodern architecture. By scraping half of the covering off and adding roofing material and drainage to the other side so that you can tell your friends that you particpate in deconstructive architecture. Surround it with an aquarium. Surround it with an indoor garden jungle. String a hammock or two off it so you can say, "man we were so lucky to have this coumn here so we could hang our hammocks and still be able to use all the room!" With a same-strength steel coumn that is just as strong. Replace it with a beam from one side to the other so that it is no longer structurally required. Run a wall up to it. Or, if someone asks you, "how can you decorate a square pillar or column in the middle of a living room?", you can say "um, it seemed like a good idea at the time, do you think that I shouldn't have?"

Rock on Great space. Cretins gone, solar sheeting on windows they can see out but no one can see in. light is great. build toy box along wall under windows all the way across. hydro-lick lifts in both sides of toy box lid. cover and make seat, single books shelf at the back. cool chair fill with bright colored pillows guessing it is a boy wall size world colored sticker globe left hand side move lego building station under globe move shelves and cube thing to other wall paint all the same color one shelf on each side. above sticker abc's and 123's then child's name leaving enough room for other kids if you have them with the age right next to the name. on the angled narrow space a long chalk board. you can tack up his or her art on the globe in the country they would give it to change it out weekly on accident they learn world colors shapes letters numbers and can dream. easy clean up total cost about $250 will last till the 3 grade.

Constance and the Creative Mind Design team, you've done an amazing job in restoring a heritage house, and shining a light on a precious family story! The original house is clearly well built for the environment: large overhanging roof, windows tucked neatly under. Love the rusticated exterior and the big arches in the porte cochere too. Haunted only to those who don't know the story! I also love that the original house has been updated to serve the needs of the current, without forgetting the past. Those pink mosaic tiles and wrought iron grilles fit in very nicely in the new house. The airwell seems to bridge the new and old worlds perfectly too.

getting natural light into a single storey extension

hey there, is it a good alternative. If the site condition permits, i would suggest to have a higher/ taller opening to ensure a good source of light into the space. The amount of light source you will get also depends on the orientation of the house. i.e. if its a East & West direction, you will be able to get optimum light source streaming into the room at certain time of the day. However, if its a North South facing, then it will likely be a " light-split". hope this is useful.
