Need help on the furniture layout for open plan living room
Comments (9)Thanks for your comments, its great to discuss with houzers! You are so right @decoenthusiaste the view is beautiful and one reason why I chose the apartment. the room is longer than it is wide, and I wanted the kitchen/bar to be included in the seating so the attached pic is how I was planning to lay it out. @cdrdesign I can't/change the table, its a gorgeous mahogany piece I had custom made and one I see keeping for some years yet! I dont plan a TV in this room, will put it in another room. This room in for living and entertaining guests. Sorry I dont have layout software, so you will have to make do with my scribbles using powerpoint! Could really do with help on choosing the light fitting in place of the central fan- what would look nice here or should I wait till the furniture gets here to choose the light to match?...See Moreneed to design my 160 sq ft city office..I'm a marriage counsellor

Comments (3)Wood moves with the temperature - hot/cold etc. Having said that unless you have placed your cabinets right next to a very hot radiator, or in direct sunlight, this should not happen. It also depends on the type of paint they have used - does it stretch with the wood? Any good cabinet maker would know this - I also note that these have been sprayed, and that may be the answer - sprayed paint will not move, whereas painted furniture does give. Do not think I would accept these, and stern words are needed with the supplier and put the ball back in their court. You should have at least one years guarantee with these, so I would ask another supplier what they think....See MoreResale EA - Need help to gather idea how to renovate my house
Comments (10)Hi yoyo188, that's a very detailed plan! Looks fine with me, except I have a concern regarding the dining area. (The following done with Houzz Sketch function!) Just wondering if some of the guests at the dining table might potentially be facing the shoe rack? Not sure which you prefer, but I'd either reposition the shoe rack or the dining table: Regarding the proximity of the dining table to the kitchen, I like referencing the following Houzz Tours: [https://www.houzz.com.sg/magazine/houzz-tour-infusing-the-popular-scandi-theme-with-local-flavour-stsetivw-vs~84802854[(https://www.houzz.com.sg/magazine/houzz-tour-infusing-the-popular-scandi-theme-with-local-flavour-stsetivw-vs~84802854) [https://www.houzz.com.sg/magazine/houzz-tour-this-flats-defining-style-is-streamlined-and-cosy-stsetivw-vs~86080574[(https://www.houzz.com.sg/magazine/houzz-tour-this-flats-defining-style-is-streamlined-and-cosy-stsetivw-vs~86080574) [https://www.houzz.com.sg/magazine/houzz-tour-finally-a-scan-dustrial-home-that-is-different-stsetivw-vs~85725844[(https://www.houzz.com.sg/magazine/houzz-tour-finally-a-scan-dustrial-home-that-is-different-stsetivw-vs~85725844) But that's just my opinion, let me know what you think?...See MoreAtlas Kitchens Ltd
