Can you please give me some details on the flooring. What is it? ... paint, tile, marble? Also, if possible please provide vendor details for a Canadian retailer of materials used. I am in the process of renovating my basement and am at a standstill with the flooring. Yours would be ideal.

Hey lex. This floor is not something you can buy but a process you can do. This is an epoxy stain coating concrete. We cleaned the concrete floor in this basement. Sanded it smooth as we could and acid etched it. Cut a diamond shape pattern into the concrete to look like tile. Stained the concrete with actually a brown stain then coated on top with a high gloss epoxy with black staining to give it the marble look. Overall cost is about $9 per square foot. But looks like hundreds. Thanks for showing an interesting in what we do.

I would love to do business with Rococo Homes because I do some amazing things to concrete. I can accomplish this look but I have a few other products to chose from that give you different looks. You can look at my pictures and see sevaral ideas including countertops.

Look up Forbo Flooring. I think it comes out of Europe. Its a product with " green " credentials and whilst it is used extensively in hospitals and industrial centres it is extremely strong and hard wearing. I think with other good strong design elements in a room a vinyl floor can easily be pulled off as dynamic and urban. Used a lot in say Denmark and Sweden for example with product longevity in mind & positive if you are also environmentally conscious. I am currently looking at Forbo vinyl to be laid in our sunroom, utility room, pantry and entrance way as it is practical, easy to clean and with a great colour can provide a lot of impact. And whilst it can be hard to walk on & can be viewed sometimes as cold visually I think a rug/rugs can remedy this in the colder months. Vinyl & cork went out of fashion a couple of decades ago and they are now popular again for good reason. I hope this gives you confidence in your current ID :)

Hi everyone, My basement got some water after the recent storms in our area. We had vinyl planks flooring and had to pull all of it out, damaging most of it in the process. We are certainly not looking into putting flooring down again, and we are considering epoxy flooring. I want to ask here your opinions, experience, and pros and cons of polished concrete floors Atlanta. Ideally, we would prefer to do it ourselves as the cost to hire out appears to be astronomical. We saw a company called Everlast Epoxy and wonder if anyone here knows about them and their product. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and opinions.

Wood tiled floor or marble tiled floor for my bathroom?

Wood and Marble are both non-porous thus it would cause etching and corrosion. Besides that, marble are high maintenance materials as they require high maintenance. In the long run, wooden looking tiles (made of porcelain or ceramic) would be more practical. You can also consider marble looking quartz. You may check out the D & L series of iQuartz range.
