Curtain help, what sort of material and colour should I choose ?
Comments (7)What a great room! If you enjoy the general Monochromatic feel of your room I'd go with white or silver (see 'option2' photo) and let your accent pillows do the accenting! The blue hue on the wall actually simplifies your color options. Either pull that color in through a patterned application as mentioned above (see 'option1' photo) or just stick to silver/white. Comments (13)I take it this isn't your bathroom. The glass could be handmade lead light which means bespoke by someone who makes lead light windows or it could be a transfer applied to a plain glass window. Check on ebay or online sticker/transfer stores for similar. I've never seen a piece like that in Australia so I'm thinking this might be an American antique. It's not normal to put an expensive antique piece in a bathroom and if you did it would be best in a bathroom that only has minimal use. And you would want to have a lot of good exhaust extraction to get rid of moisture. If you picked up one of those repro Indonesian mahogany pieces you would be spending a lot less money and might regard the piece as expendable. You can buy wood hardening sprays that resist moisture from the hardware store and spray the carcass (all the unstained pieces inside) with this stuff to resist moisture. You'd still need a good exhaust system however and keep the room well aired....See MoreHow to do I compliment or accentuate my art in the living area.
Comments (10)you painted that? it's stunning! you can do a lot with just a rug. I have 2 toddlers 2.5 yrs old and 19 months old. and I used a low pile indoor/outdoor rug from Walmart. it was like 40$ for a 5x8. it was soooooo easy to clean even when it was blackberry stains! if you really don't want a to buy a rug there are a ton of DIY area rugs on pintrest where you take a cloth and tape it to a non slip pad, then toss it in the wash! brilliant right? you can definitely use 2 big pillows, the have a mustardy/yellow one at ikea (you can wash the covers and switch them too) and maybe a couple small accent pillows. but LOVING the painting...and I wish it was mine..K bye lol! :)...See MoreWhat should I do with this boring entrance?
Comments (9)Hi Rachel, This is quite easy to fix. Firstly I would brighten the space up with a white paint such as Nippon Violet Whispers (warm white), this will give you a good base to work from. Then I would replace your table with one that is larger. This table is too small to be useful and is making your entrance feel small. I recommend using teak and keeping this console table simple in design. On the wall I would place artwork - the bigger the better as this will make a dramatic statement. Then add some lighting (table lamp on console table) and decorative items and voila your entrance will be instantly chic! I have mocked up two options for you - one is based on blues, the other pinks, so depending on your preference you can go either way. This is the blue version with hints of tropical This is the pink version. I would love to work with you, so if you are interested in my ideas, please contact me via my website www.atelierlane.com Ellie Owner & Creative Director Atelier Lane...See Moresacapuntaslapioz
