My first house! Need your insightful advice!
Hi Houzzers
I recently purchased my house and I am looking to add shutters, paint the balcony rails, and the 2 doors. The red roof, the natural colour of the house and the brown bottom of the house will remain the same. Please please help me with a colour scheme. Thanking you all in advance!

I would say just a tad more yellow if your husband can bear it, doesn't have to be solid yellow. I'd add something else on the left shelves (I'd move one shelf of photos to the right hand shelving and swap for some books), maybe a ginger jar if you can get an old one. PRO9 years agoMost of your windows do not have the space to accommodate shutters, so i don't think they are an option for your home. If sun control is an issue, I think you might be able to add some charming colorful awnings.

I agree, no shutters. I like the turquoise posted above but I also like teal and salmon posted below.

Finally! The "Photo" tab still wasn't working, so I tried the "Houzz Photo" tab and popped in the pic using the spot on the right.Anywho, here's my doodle from the other day. I thought that all of the warm colors needed a touch of cool, hence the green. Blue looked a bit too kindergarten/primary paired with the yellow and red, although a periwinkle tone looked okay too.
