Need Help with 3 Room BTO Reno!

Hi guys, planning my 3 room BTO reno, I read that this is the sequence that I follow, is this correct? Very stressed with going through this. Any comments will be appreciated!

1) hacking / dismantling
2) wet works
3) plumbing (pipes)
4) electrical (trunking, points)
5) painting
6) partition / glass works
7) plumbing (sanitary ware installation)
8) electrical (lights installation)
7) carpentry
8) painting (touch up)
9) acid wash

Hi there - a Singapore based painting specialist here! Yes, that schedule sounds about right, but do factor in time for some hiccups here and there.

You also would have to slot in furniture shopping (dimensions, style etc.) and decide on your preferred aesthetic before your hacking and dismantling. Engaging a responsible and prompt contractor/ interior designer will help you ease some of that stress :).

The schedule of works are there about & kindly factor into your furniture delivery as well. Cos, some furniture will take 8 weeks to be delivered.

The tile person should be able to demo and replace the tile. Most should know how to do drywall sufficiently enough to clean up their own mess. Most wallpaper people also patch walls and paint. There will be other things that need to be done, but between those two people they can lead you in the right direction. Just make sure to get this information before you start with a clear understanding of what those two are willing to do, and have it all planned out ahead of time. They may, for instance, be willing to remove a toilet to wallpaper behind it, but then have a plumber put it back.

Thanks for your comments, its great to discuss with houzers! You are so right @decoenthusiaste the view is beautiful and one reason why I chose the apartment. the room is longer than it is wide, and I wanted the kitchen/bar to be included in the seating so the attached pic is how I was planning to lay it out. @cdrdesign I can't/change the table, its a gorgeous mahogany piece I had custom made and one I see keeping for some years yet! I dont plan a TV in this room, will put it in another room. This room in for living and entertaining guests. Sorry I dont have layout software, so you will have to make do with my scribbles using powerpoint! Could really do with help on choosing the light fitting in place of the central fan- what would look nice here or should I wait till the furniture gets here to choose the light to match?

Hi there. If you do have ceiling works to be done, do not forget to include it after the electrical trunking has been done. Also i would rather you do partition first then painting. This will help to reduce the touch ups.

Beside the sequence of events, you need to know the timeline as in how long for each stage. Start selecting your tiles and sanitary wares for your kitchen and toilets as it will take sometime to agree (I am assuming you have to discuss with your family) on the colors and design of the tiles, the type of taps, mixers etc. Also think about where you want to locate your switches and lightings. If you are getting refrigerator with auto ice maker, you need to decide the position as well so your contractor put a water and power point near it. All these take a lot time for decision when you have a few persons to discuss and decide. Dun get into a situation where your contractor tells you they are waiting for you to get to the next stage and put the delay to you and you will be forced to make hasty decisions.
