Budget to re-decorate your bedroom?

I've been contemplating with the idea of re-decorating my bedroom, giving it a major overhaul. I was sourcing for ideas online and did a rough budget of all the things I wanted, including new mattress, bed frame, wardobe etc. Everything comes up to about $5,500! The total amount was a little overwhelming - while I could afford it, I didn't expect that a major revamp of my bedroom would cost so much. Do you guys think it's justifiable? If you were me, what kind of price range would you set your budget at? Would you give up getting a new mattress (the most costly item) and use your current one instead to save on costs?
