Comments (13)I take it this isn't your bathroom. The glass could be handmade lead light which means bespoke by someone who makes lead light windows or it could be a transfer applied to a plain glass window. Check on ebay or online sticker/transfer stores for similar. I've never seen a piece like that in Australia so I'm thinking this might be an American antique. It's not normal to put an expensive antique piece in a bathroom and if you did it would be best in a bathroom that only has minimal use. And you would want to have a lot of good exhaust extraction to get rid of moisture. If you picked up one of those repro Indonesian mahogany pieces you would be spending a lot less money and might regard the piece as expendable. You can buy wood hardening sprays that resist moisture from the hardware store and spray the carcass (all the unstained pieces inside) with this stuff to resist moisture. You'd still need a good exhaust system however and keep the room well aired....See MoreWardrobe and bathroom together
Comments (1)The humidity in Singapore is always a concern with wardrobes and storage in general. The exhaust fan will help up to an extent. Its going to a trial and error experiment for you as there are other factors that need to be included here as well..... Eg is there a window for cross ventilation close by. Is there an air con in the bedroom concerned. Will it be switched on all the time or periodically. You might be lucky and control the humidity with a number of factors. Do share and let us know your experience so we can all learn from you. There is however a dehumidifying rod that is available in the market and used in high end homes in Singapore. It helps up to an extent as well. Its a question of best dealing with the natural humidity as well as the moistness from the shower....See MoreChemical free way to remove bathroom mould?
Comments (4)Hi Rachel, Make a paste of white distilled vinegar and some bi carb soda. Into a deep bowl, add one cup vinegar and slowly stir about a table spoon of bi carb. Add a little of the bi carb as possible into a deeb bowl. The reaction of the two will cause the mixture to foam and thats the reason for the deep bowl. Once the foam settles, apply this paste on to the area concerned and let it sit for an hour or so at least. Use some elbow grease and scrub a little and wash away with clean water. Vinegar is a mild acid which can kill 82% of mold species. (Baking soda is often used along with vinegar for killing different species of mold.) Its natural and as organic as it gets. The smell of vinegar will linger for a while and is normal. Make sure the shower is well ventilated. Hope it helps?...See MoreSusie McMahon
