How to have a not so hot kitchen?

Do you have a very hot kitchen problem? Does anyone install ceiling fans in their kitchen? Our kitchen is too hot while cooking as there is a lot of deep-frying? Any tips on how to manage the heat & oiliness?

Yes to ceiling fans! make sure you get one that can reverse too so you can use it to push down warm air on cooler days.

How about using an extractor over the stove. And install a extractor fan near a window close by.

Hi, Could you add a pic of the lounge area outside bedrooms? There seem to be too many palettes of colours within furniture from white tv cabinet to dark brown book shelf to light brown dining to black/blue/beige sitting pieces. Tie up sitting by adding few cushions in possibly black/white/blue combo. Extend sitting area of living through the entire span of AC wall. You need a larger rug for this space. Angle dining table between 30 to 45 degrees with long length between detached counter corner to bookshelf end towards lounge. This will add the flow to lounge. Add a table runner along the centre of the long length. You need larger artwork pics or a collection of art pieces on living room wall behind beige sofa. Lounge can have a console and wall with a composition of family picture frames to personalise space. Remove blue artwork in the last pic. Instead, you can add a composition of wall shelves with artefacts on them or wall hooks with hanging artefacts. Rugs, table lamps, floor lamps and few bold decorative pieces will add the required warmth. A round centre table in the living room can be good.

Thanks! My thoughts are, I already have appliances in my indoor kitchen, just wondering in terms of practicality if I should install another hob. It's mostly to prepare food that requires only boiling, steaming (nothing oily) and besides, the counter top is caesar-stone which is still quite costly here and cutting an opening for a hob costs money. Will my indoor kitchen look cheap if I only use a portable hob? What's your take on this? Thanks again.

Don't know about ABET laminates, but grew up with laminate countertop from a different mfg. No problems. We never placed anything hot directly on them, always used hot plates. But then again, i would never place anything hot directly on a granite counter. To nice looking...why take the chance ?

How can I hide an existing column in the kitchen

You could use the column for something useful like hanging utensils or cooking tools if you have the height or a towel rack or if you want to just hide it you could put fairy lights on/around it to give a homely feel.my personal opinion would be if there is a ledge you should get some vintage alcohol bottles and put them there as decoration and it works nice in most households.if no ledge just get a wine rack and screw it to the column
