critall style doors for lower budgets?

So our new big renovation involves a full width extension at the back of our property and i would really like to have more of an industrial feel to it rather than a typical white box.

We've had alu bifolds in our last house which were fine but and also like the thin framed sliding doors. However, I also really love the loft style effect of critall which works well with my industrial theme but they are out of our price range.

What companies do you recommend (we are in Lancashire) that produce similar frame thicknesses for external doors/windows for less? Happy with aluminium.

Thank you

@ YES - thank you - that's good to know. Yes Crittall are gorgeous but we just can't afford that as we have to pretty much gut the whole entire house (plus new roof and loft renovations!) so we are limited on luxuries.

Interesting to know about the cosmetic bars on the bi folds. I presume they are aluminium and not just adhesive lead into the glazing?

@YES - ps love those bifolds! Can you give me a rough idea of cost to have a set of 3 like that with the cross bars please? Compared to standard bifolds without the bars?

    Hi Tani,

Rather like Crittall, our aluminium bifolding doors are specialist bespoke products aimed at the high-end of the industry. Depending on widths and heights, a set of our bifolds could cost in the region of 5-7k. possibly more, but you would need to get a full quote for accuracy.

The horizontal bars can be purely cosmetic (i.e. just stuck on the glass) but to look more authentic, I would suggest proper spacer bars that run internally though the glazing cavity, which can add small but not insignificant costs, thus affecting budget considerations.

Ah I thought the horizontal bars would be part of the actual door frame. Definately wouldn't want stick on bars
    Thank you for the advice.

    Hi Tani,

If you search online for Heritage 47 windows & doors you should be able to find a supplier that covers your area.

@prime living - is that the name of a company sorry, or a particular brand? I've googled it but it doesn't come up with a company as such.

Still having no luck finding any local suppliers.
We are going to the Manchester build it show soon so hoping there might be one there

    Hi Tani,

Heritage 47 is a particular brand/specification. I can't attach the brochure I was given by my own local supplier (in West Sussex). The brochure is from Everglade Windows, who are London based (I think, from phone number), but I assume they will be able to quote you direct or put you in touch with a local distributor? www.evergladetrade.co.uk
