Straight run staircase to 2 floors, is it a good idea?

I am considering to build a straight run staircase to 2 floors continuously. 1st run stairs starts from the ground floor and ends with a landing to access the 2nd floor. The second run starts from the landing to the 3rd floor. Due to the layout of the overall house, this staircase design lends itself to a better layout for the rooms. But is it a good idea to have a straight run staircase that runs continuously to ground floor to the 3rd floor?
