Comments (7)So you just want to enclose the top area to make it a place to sleep? Does it need to have a kitchen and bathroom or just a sleeping area? I am not an architect but you might want to ask more direct questions like " How can I enclose this upper floor to make it livable?". It looks like you live in a very mild climate. Perhaps you should put up wood walls with windows that match the design on the balcony panels. I am not a builder so I hope someone else has some ideas for you....See MoreBathroom layout/window
Comments (5)If privacy is the issue, get the sliders tinted to about 70%. You'll still get most of the natural light but will have privacy. Now, keep in mind this only works during the day. At night you are exposed. To address this, you may wish to do a floor to ceiling white sheer/linen curtains. The number of folds in the curtain will dictate the amount of visible silhouette at night. Comments (2)Constance and the Creative Mind Design team, you've done an amazing job in restoring a heritage house, and shining a light on a precious family story! The original house is clearly well built for the environment: large overhanging roof, windows tucked neatly under. Love the rusticated exterior and the big arches in the porte cochere too. Haunted only to those who don't know the story! I also love that the original house has been updated to serve the needs of the current, without forgetting the past. Those pink mosaic tiles and wrought iron grilles fit in very nicely in the new house. The airwell seems to bridge the new and old worlds perfectly too....See MoreAdvice for vertical garden
Comments (6)Forget about fake plants. It will just be a dust magnet. Plus, the toxin release from the plastic and adhesive is not the idea of green after all. But then again, planting on walls indoor is a big commitment. You need to be very sure as it does require quite a lot of care, especially if the area is low on natural light. You may need plant lightings. Start small, like what I did with a photo frame size. Outdoor is easy, I have one at the balcony, where water is not a problem and ample sun lights. Both DIY project. Did not cause me an arm or leg....See Moreallure viola
