Hi, We suggest that you g⁠⁠⁠⁠o for grey (safer) or black (more "loud" and daring) laminate colours as it matches really well with the granite you have. Wood moves with the temperature - hot/cold etc. Having said that unless you have placed your cabinets right next to a very hot radiator, or in direct sunlight, this should not happen. It also depends on the type of paint they have used - does it stretch with the wood? Any good cabinet maker would know this - I also note that these have been sprayed, and that may be the answer - sprayed paint will not move, whereas painted furniture does give. Do not think I would accept these, and stern words are needed with the supplier and put the ball back in their court. You should have at least one years guarantee with these, so I would ask another supplier what they think.

You could use the column for something useful like hanging utensils or cooking tools if you have the height or a towel rack or if you want to just hide it you could put fairy lights on/around it to give a homely feel.my personal opinion would be if there is a ledge you should get some vintage alcohol bottles and put them there as decoration and it works nice in most households.if no ledge just get a wine rack and screw it to the column

Hello there :) Nice design by the way. Perhaps you can: 1. Change the door panels only. Keep the existing shape & the cupboards, the carpenter can 'update' the doors with different handles too (like image above). 2. Spray paint is more $$$ but I think it is longer lasting. 3. Laminated is less $$ but as we all know it chips & eventually the laminate comes out (wear & tear). 4. Unless you want the inside of the cabinet to be changed from existing white to a different colour, then the carpenter have to dismantle everything & redo.
