Houzz Tour: This East-meets-West Condo Brings The Outdoors In
A mix of styles and accessories makes this apartment a personalised home for its homeowners
Working closely with the homeowners, the design team from Black N White Haus helped to reconfigure this ground floor apartment to suit the needs of the couple and their two children. An eclectic and bohemian theme is evident through the apartment, showcasing the homeowners’ love for patterns, art and colour.
Wanting to enjoy the lush garden view by the balcony, the homeowners of this ground floor apartment had the idea to make the balcony a big part of the living area.
As they love to entertain, the spacious balcony was the perfect spot for a large dining set. They also carved out a casual sitting area by the side to accommodate more guests.

The home begins at its private lift lobby and foyer, renovated with bold Moroccan-style floor tiles and a turquoise Oriental-style credenza as a teaser of what lies beyond.
This is where the shoe cabinet is and where the homeowners display their collectibles and mementoes.

“They want their home to be filled with intriguing details and patterns,” shares the design team.
Together with the homeowners, they sourced for lighting, furniture and accessories that matched the homeowners’ taste and custom-made some as well.
While most of the furniture in the home is new, some of the pieces were refurbished and reconditioned.

Turquoise – chosen for being welcoming and refreshing – is used as an accent colour in the living area. The wall is clad in a patterned wallpaper.
This casual dining nook is also a place for the homeowners to read or work on their hobbies.
A greyer and darker blue was chosen for the open-concept kitchen’s Shaker-style cabinets on one side of the room. While the cabinets on the left are in white, the blue subway-tiled backsplash ties in with the blue colour palette.
Blue is also seen in the bedrooms.
This walk-in wardrobe maximises the room by also serving as a study and dressing room.
Patterned turquoise tiles were applied to flow seamlessly from wall to floor.
Grey and white tiles bring a calm and cosy ambience to this bathroom.
