Houzz Tour: Inspired by Hotels, This 5-Room Flat Puts on the Ritz
Luxurious details and blush and metallic accents lift this flat into the five-star hotel realm
Having gotten a good grasp of what his clients wanted, interior designer, Raymond Seow of Free Space Intent, designed this brand new HDB flat, inspired by luxury hotels around the world.
The homeowners wanted the living area to be a place of conversation and reading. Instead of a TV console, they requested for a floor-to-ceiling bookcase to display their books and memorabilia.
Sourced collectively by Seow and the homeowners, most of the furniture is from Taylor B, a furniture retailer that carries one-off pieces in the style they were looking for.

Seow took the opportunity to dress up the inset wall by the hallway, using a chrome sideboard and gold accents for a grand entrance.
The kitchen island is where the couple have their meals. These avid entertainers had a wine chiller installed here and even a built-in ice compartment to keep bottles ice-cold.
“The homeowners chose venetian blinds for the house as they feel that curtains block too much light,” explains Seow.
He adds that this way, the homeowners can better enjoy the view outside while maintaining privacy.

To give the illusion of a brighter and larger space, the cabinets are clad in a glossy white laminate. Paired with the light wood backsplash and countertop the kitchen looks modern and chic.
The spacious master bedroom is the result of removing part of the wall that separates this room from the next one.
Fitted with a standing desk, this space is utilised as a home office.
The look of luxury continues in the bathrooms. Textured tiles and sandstone basin give a resort vibe.
Marble-like tiles bring elegance and sophistication to another bathroom.
