Kitchen Colors
Teal cabinetry—“Two-Tone Color Schemes When it comes to choosing a color for your kitchen cabinets, our design panel seems to be asking, “Why choose just one?” Two-tone color schemes, with lower cabinets painted in one color and upper cabinets in another, is a hot trend that doesn’t seem to be cooling off any time soon. Designer Sabrina Alfin has implemented two-tone color schemes in many of her recent kitchen projects. “I think people are tired of all-white kitchens and want to bring in both warmth and color,” the San Francisco designer says. Alfin recommends using blues and greens for lower cabinets and white for upper cabinets, like she did for this San Francisco kitchen that features lower cabinets in a teal color called Refuge from Sherwin-Williams. “

Consider “Two-tone cabinets. Throughout this article you can find many examples of two-tone cabinets, which feature upper and lower cabinets in different colors. Here’s a twist that takes the idea to another level: using two-tone doors on individual cabinets. For example, this breezy kitchen uses a single row of wood drawer fronts on otherwise white cabinets to get just a little touch of natural interest and a fun personality.”
I would consider bookshelves in the north end of the island if there is space.
The green in this tile is similar to what I’m leaning toward for one of the kitchen cabinet colors.
Similar L-shaped space of TriPod’s kitchen. I like the solid full height wall of cabinetry using two colors. The white wraps around the corner and continues on the second part of the L. Maybe a waterfall counter would work on the south wall next to the bench drawer (closest to balcony glass.

Softly Colored Kitchens If there’s one word that describes the palette of many popular kitchens lately, it’s “soft.” This concept is clearly demonstrated in the Pittsburgh kitchen shown here, which is one of the most popular kitchens uploaded to Houzz recently. Designed by You-Neek Designs and built by Prime 1 Builders, the kitchen features two-tone cabinets in very soft colors (Jasper Stone for the lowers and Mindful Gray for the uppers, both by Sherwin-Williams), creating a calm, serene, approachable look.
