alternate to belgrade pavers; The patio is composed of Blu 60 pavers from Techo-Bloc. These are concrete pavers that are textured and colored to look like natural stone. Koehler recommended a mix of Champlain Grey and Chestnut Brown tones to break up the large patio. “These blocks give the patio an elevated look. And they are easy to lay down, which provides a great labor rate for the clients,” he says. “The variation in color gives it a more rustic look.” His crew mixed the colors on-site, laying the pavers out in a balanced composition.
Beneath the artificial turf is a layer of sand and compacted aggregate. tied the artificial turf’s drainage into the existing drains on-site. chose a pet-specific turf product for the homeowners’ puppies that drains and wicks urine. Nice plant combo for sun. “I’ve gone for Mediterranean-style [plantings]. I’ve tried to fit things such as flat [‘Moonshine’ yarrow ] (Achillea ‘Moonshine’, [zones 3 to 9]) next to the spiky [‘Caradonna’ sage] to get that vertical and horizontal thing working together, which always looks really nice,” he adds. “The blue catmint (Nepeta x faassenii ‘Walker’s Low’, [zones 3 to 8]) intermingles with the pale green [lady’s mantle] (Alchemilla mollis, [zones 3 to 8]). The silver plant is artemisia.”

steel pergola with fabric awnings. For the dining patio and adjacent lounge area, Stevens’ crew used sand-exposed concrete paving, adding a release agent after pouring it to reveal the fine aggregate on the surface. entrance to structure is relatively narrow path with staggered pour in place slabs
Beautiful ideas for a "corridor" planting and sitting space. Water feature is especially stunning and works very well with the poured in place concrete slabs that have interesting detail that correlate with the rectangular steel basin for the water receptacle and incorporate a natural stone as a place to have a fountain made of stone and which could have a place for birds to drink and bathe. Would need to figure out how to incorporate pergola type structures for privacy and shade.
