Living Craft Design-Build

We are so happy to have worked with Living Craft on a small room renovation. We struggled to attract serious quotes due to the small room size. Ben took the time to understand our needs and gave us by far the most professional, comprehensive and fair quote. He did a lot of hand holding to help us design a built-in desk and bookcase that is the focal point of the space. He also developed a creative option to mitigate an unexpected permitting requirement without completely sacrificing ceiling height (much appreciated as a taller person). We love the final product and our start-to-finish experience working with Living Craft. Already dreaming up future jobs for them.

Couldn't have been happier with our experience with Frank and the crew at Living Craft from when they did the lime-plaster walls during our remodel of the lobby at the A-Lodge. Of all the contractors and subs we worked with, they were the most responsive, were flexible and accommodating with their schedule, had detailed invoices, and (huge for us) was working clean and organizing all of their materials at the end of a work day. We feel great about what we paid for the work that they did, and are appreciative of the time they took to explain everything that they were doing. Thanks again, guys and gals!

Living Craft did a fantastic job remodeling our basement bar. The entire process working with Ben and Cheryl was smooth and efficient. Working with Living Craft was an absolute pleasure! We built a custom home from the ground up, and therefore worked with many, many contractors. Living Craft was by far one of (if not, THE), most respectful, attentive, and professional contractors we worked with. We hired LC to create a plaster fireplace, which is now the focal point of our living/dining room. It turned out beautifully, and I hope I can use this team again in the future for another project!

We were doing a complete gut and remodel of our kitchen. We had taken walls down to original stone, and hired Living Craft to redo our walls. They used a beautiful true lime plaster with a swirly grey tint. They blended all the uneven walls really well, and tied into trim and casing with great care as well. They were extremely friendly, and considerate, and also left job site very clean when done work each day. I will definitely look to hire them again for future projects.

Living Craft performed a full install of our straw-bale walls with clay plaster, and also did some finish carpentry. They bring professionalism to green building and a passion for natural, healthy finishes that's currently unmatched in our area.

We had an unusual adobe wall that needed to be stuccoed. Living Craft did an amazing job of first understanding the situation and what was needed and then working with us to get it done. We couldn't be more pleased with our experience with this dynamic team of professionals. We hired them to build out our unfinished 1000 sq.ft. basement. Ben put together a comprehensive estimate, finding competitive bids for the electrical, heating, plumbing, and drywall portions, plus concrete floor stain & polish. We were pleasantly surprised to find that incorporating natural building practices didn't mean the cost was any more than a conventional approach. The scope of their work included framing, insulation, plastering gorgeous natural clay & lime walls, building an incredible tadelakt shower, putting in a ventilation system, installing multiple materials, and staying on top of all the subcontractors. They gave us great recommendations for locations to find materials. Over the course of several months, we were witness to their positive energy and obvious pride in their craft. Having had countless bad experiences with home improvement projects, we are thrilled to have found these honest, reliable, gifted artisans.

Living Craft Design-Build company has been working with us in several projects in our house. They did organizing shelves in our garage, some projects inside the house and the most beatiful deck. They did all the design and custom work. We love their works. Always go above and beyond expectation. Their craftmanship is excellent and very envirenmentally friendly. We have kids and dogs in the house. we always can trust that they will be safe with the products that they use. Also they are very nice and great person. very easy to work with trustworthy, dependable, and clean up after their work neatly. I will recommend this company to every one!!!

We have been living in our straw bale house for two years. Every day we enjoy the beautiful artistic work Frank, Ben, and Cheryl did plastering the walls and applying the tadelakt technique in our bathroom and along our kitchen counters. Their art is a pleasure for the eyes and to the touch. Tadelakt walls are very easy to care for and, despite heavy use, don’t turn old. They just transform beautifully with a bit of maintenance, which involves applying wax twice a year. Even the deposit of calcium from hard water along the walls of the bathroom is not longer a problem. The team of Frank, Ben, and Cheryl left a wonderful energy in our house. The three of them are smart, honest, creative, talented, fun to be with, very centered, and ... they care. They brought all these good qualities into our future home throughout 6 months of hard work. They are a team of young people with strong minds, strong hearts, and strong bodies. Our family has a lot of respect and gratitude for them. Frank also did some finish carpentry work at the end of our house construction project. He did a beautiful job, continuing to cultivating a special presence during his work. Frank, Ben and team plastered a large portion of the inside of our house in Lyons over a four month period in 2016. This was over 3500 sq. ft of floor space with vaulted ceilings, rounded arches, and extensive trim work. The craftsmanship is incredible and the end result was a gorgeous upgrade to our home. Beyond the amazing quality and our happiness with the end result, Frank and Ben are consummate professionals. The level of communication, the ease of working with them, and their ability to minimize the impact on our family during the project were awesome. I would absolutely use Living Craft again!

Ben and his partner who remodeled my small bathroom in my 80 year old house are wonderful craftsmen who designed a beautiful room that incorporated the elements I was looking for while suggesting adjustments that made the best use of the small space. The room had given me moisture and leakage problems for 25 years and they solved them. I wanted tadelakt on the walls and they also suggested the counter of the new vanity counter be made of tadelakt which a unique beautiful hand made surface. Ben and Frank and crew were communicative, responsive, fun, and respectful. They did all the work themselves except electrical and plumbing for which they got competitive bids. They cleaned up every day. They clearly enjoy their work which made my experience enjoyable as well. They use easy technology for visualizing proposed design and for payment.
