Nothing says luxurious lifestyle quite so clearly as a beautifully set-up walk in wardrobe, designed specifically to suit your sartorial style and meet your daily needs. Take a look at these incredible spaces from Singapore that reflect and serve their owners to a T, and be inspired to create your own dressing area.
1. Dark and masculine
Designer: Rimadesio Singapore
Wardrobe features: Surrounded by transparent sliding doors, this walk-in wardrobe is perfectly suited to the urbane, well-dressed gentleman. It features a selection of open and closed storage, to give the owner the option to have his shirts and jackets on display, and more intimate items hidden away.
Lighting is soft and subtle, creating a soothing space to start and end the day, as well as ensuring that colours aren’t faded by direct sunlight.

A casual but comfy armchair offers a place to rest, whether to sit back and enjoy the cool quiet of the space, or to perch while slipping into a smart pair of low-heeled brogues. The white of the chair offsets the darker shades, and keeps the space from feeling too sombre. This is the ultimate well-dressed man cave.
2. Understated elegance
Designer: Rimadesio Singapore
Wardrobe features: In the same residence, this more feminine space meets different requirements for an equally considered and elegant result. Here, brighter lighting allows outfits to be more easily seen, with a majority of open storage showing off dresses, tops, shirts, jackets and more. The lighting scheme is given even more of a boost with the addition of a sparkling chandelier, to make this space less of a sanctuary and more of a celebration of style.

This walk-in also contains a curtained-off dressing area, as well as a pouffe for comfy seating, meaning that the owner can invite friends in for private fashion consultations, while still maintaining a measure of privacy.
3. Straightforward design
Designer: akiHAUS Design Studio
Wardrobe features: Very simple in design, this all-white wardrobe space is less walk-in and more walk-through, stretching along just one wall between the master bedroom and bathroom. This is an ideal set-up for a more compact space, and again features a mixture of open and closed storage, enabling the owner to make their clothes double as decor items that add colour to the streamlined space.
Integrated lighting set into the top of the main cabinet makes every piece of clothing easy to find, and the closed-in section above provides extra space for out-of-season items, and those pieces that are less aesthetically pleasing.

4. Urban appeal
Designer: Versaform
Wardrobe features: Here, closed storage is the order of the day, with a less sleek and more industrial look to reflect the tastes of this homeowner. A variety of doors and drawers keep clothing contained and tidy, while the fronts of these storage units – in a combination of light- and dark-toned timber finished with simple black metal handles – brings an urban industrial edge to the dressing area.
Lighting is mostly natural, with sunlight coming in through the floor-to-ceiling window on one wall, making the closed storage more of a necessity. Having the space to store the owner’s bicycle, the corner of the room is where transport turns into wall art.

The tops of the drawer units provide space for personal display, bringing even more of the owner’s personality into the space, while the lighting fixture/ shelving unit adds a unique touch that makes this walk-in wardrobe and storage space truly individual.
5. So very Zen
Designer: asolidplan
Wardrobe features: Sleek, streamlined storage is hidden away in this elegant, very covetable dressing space. All you see when you walk into the wardrobe is the beautiful, smooth finish of the cabinets, with cutouts as handles rather than protruding handles.
Grid-like lines formed by the doors, window shades, floor tiles and even the feature ceiling add a strong sense of order and sophistication to this calming zone. The ambience is enhanced by subtle, simple lighting over the wardrobe units.

Floor-to-ceiling mirrors have been kept outside the main body of the room, keeping the dressing area as fuss-free as possible, while still providing the necessities for practical daily use. This calm, contemporary space is a breath of fresh air and a serene haven for a busy city dweller.
