Design Excellence Awards (DEA) 2017, one of the region’s most anticipated interior design competitions, is calling for entries. Organised by the Interior Design Confederation Singapore (IDCS), the Awards recognise the best of interior design in Singapore and Asia Pacific, endorsing and celebrating the achievements of practitioners and students alike. Participants are invited to submit their original designs here before 31 October 2017.

The fifth cycle of the Awards is marked by the introduction of 12 new categories across the two competition tracks: Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) for interior designers and firms; as well as Spatial Design Awards (SPADE) for students. Notable new categories include Exhibition Design, Sustainable Design, Environmental Design for both tracks; and IDEA Project of the Year, Emerging ID Firm of the Year, Top 3 ID Firm of the Year and AkzoNobel Colour Award, which are exclusive to IDEA.

Wee Studio won Gold for Residential Design – Best Apartment Above 1,000 square feet and Below 2,000 square feet in 2016
The Awards offer winning individuals and firms exposure, credibility and prestige and benefits such as tickets to the DEA 2017 Gala Dinner at The St. Regis Singapore, free one-year IDCS membership and a feature promoted by AkzoNobel.
DEA 2017’s panel of judges includes Chris Lee from Asylum, Kelley Cheng from The Press Room, Pann Lim of Kinetic Singapore, William Lau of A.Alliance Design International Architects & Planners and William Chang of Spacedge Designs.
