In this third part of our ongoing series on decorating for your MBTI personality type, let’s look at:
The ENTJ type: With your authority and dazzling confidence, you’re a natural leader – and you more than live up to your reputation. Your ability to envision the big picture, coupled with sheer drive, helps you to achieve any goal you set your mind to. When it comes to high-stakes discussions, you are in your element – be it a battle of wits, a negotiation in the boardroom, or a good solid debate.
The INTJ type: You’re not called The Architect for nothing. You are both a seeker and constructor of knowledge, and enjoy sharing your field of specialisation with others. You believe that with enough foresight, planning and effort, no feat is impossible. You constantly seek truth and depth, and tend to stay away from gossip and small talk. Strategy and the big picture are important to you.

Show off your book collection
Since you value the pursuit of knowledge, reflect that in your home. A feature wall made of bookshelves displays your collection beautifully, and looks good coupled with a dedicated reading space, like a window seat or a quaint table.

If you want to put them in your living room, a selection of your favourite books will also look great sitting in a bar cart together with your drink collection – perfect for an evening of good conversation with close friends discussing your favourite authors.
If space is tight in your home, maximise it by making use of hidden storage in nooks, like the stairs on this bunk bed – great for keeping bedtime reads within reach!
Got a young -NTJ type in the house? Encourage their love of reading with a an attractive feature wall that’ll draw their eye to the books. Here, the bright cheery yellow background pairs well with the neutral tones of the shelves and easy chair, and allows the book covers to stand out beautifully.

If your little reader likes to take his or her books from room to room, scattering them everywhere, consider using a little cart that your child can pull over easily to put away books.
Optimise your study for maximum productivity
To the -NTJ type, a study is so much more than just a place to work at home – it’s also a space to brainstorm, to hold discussions, and to formulate your plan for world domination.
The room you designate as your study needs to be an efficient space where you can think and work without disruption. If you frequently hold private meetings in your study, consider shifting your desk so it faces out to the door, instead of a wall, and adding more seating to facilitate discussion. Lighting is also very important: you may want to have a few options, including a good task light, to adjust the mood of the room as needed.

A pop of colour brings energy to the room, so don’t be afraid to use it in your study – just keep the overall palette neutral, so as to prevent clashes. Here, the bright primary tones punctuate the neutral shades of white and grey, while the bright natural lighting lends the room an airy feel.
Decorate with wall art that appeals to your love of the big picture
Wall art that helps you focus on the larger scheme of things is a great addition to the study, too. The giant calendar here is not only visually appealing, but also has the added functionality of helping you plan for upcoming projects.

If you love travelling, how about a large map on the wall? Get a framed one for a more formal look, or one you can stick pins into to indicate where you’ve been – or which parts of the world you plan to conquer next.
Alternatively, you can create your own big-picture wall with chalkboard paint. -NTJ types believe in the power of meticulous planning and brainstorming, and a dedicated space helps them to visualise things better. A chalkboard wall like this allows you to outline your plans, and the dark charcoal background is an added bonus that highlights your display of books and other items.
Keep your family organised with a ‘command centre’ in the home
Day-to-day operations can get messy, with differing schedules, meal planning, and household errands. To keep things running smoothly, keep a central space dedicated to organising the family – a message board for everyone to write down their schedule for the week, as well as slots for sorting mail and school notes, can help. This should ideally be stationed in a high-traffic area that everyone passes through daily, like the entrance foyer or kitchen.

A large chalkboard wall in the living or dining area can help plan schedules or meals for the week, too – it also adds a relaxed laid-back vibe, reminiscent of a cafe, to your space.
Keep your resting space minimalist and clutter-free
Even the -NTJ needs a restful space to retire to and switch off at the end of the day. Keep your bedroom free of clutter and reduce visual stimulation to a minimum, to help you unwind and put your busy mind in a calm, relaxed state before bedtime. Keep the items in your wardrobe out of sight with an opaque door, or a mirrored option like this one that also helps to visually expand the room.

Scent also helps to put one in a calmer state of mind. Use reed diffusers for a hassle-free, low-maintenance option that allows scent to permeate your bedroom. Use scents such as lavender or white tea – they help to induce a state of relaxation that’ll help you rest better, and wake up refreshed the next morning ready to conquer the day.
