I know your pain Samsung! I had let oregano loose at my old house and it got out of control. Now I keep it in a pot on its own. I do the same with my mint, as that too can be quite invasive when let to grow freely.

Living in the pacific nw oregano is semi evergreen. First never let it go to seed. Second I grow mine where it only gets a half day sun. It growers a lot slower there.
