The force is strong within the pet community in Singapore. There is a growing number of households that have at least one pet, and the struggle is to keep the balance between having a beautiful and comfortable home, and over-indulging in creating the perfect environment for their furry loved ones. Fret not! We show you how to live in stylish harmony with your pets.
Private business
Most of us in Singapore will find space a luxury. Instead of using a yard or the kitchen to house the pet toilet, consider converting a single kitchen cabinet unit for that purpose. It not only gives your pet some privacy for their business, this arrangement is also neat and saves space for other important fixtures.

Fine dining
Alternatively, if you prefer to house the poo-poo area away from your kitchen, the same cabinet could be transformed into their feeding post instead. It will be best to remove the whole door if you have a medium-sized or larger pet. Getting their head stuck in the doorway just won’t cut it for them!

Mini me
Making sure your pet is comfortable for the night just got easier – get him (or her) a bed of his own. This miniature Duktig Doll Bed from IKEA is just too adorable to pass up!

X marks the spot
Give your kitty or pup a corner to call its own. Design a decal to decorate its feeding corner – it adds a dash of colour and is a great way to include your pet into your home.

Frame it
Besides wall stickers and decals, a picture frame can also add a spot of interest to kitty’s corner. It is quick, easy and affordable to set up, and the visual rewards are worth it.

Got it covered!
Cushion covers with animal motifs are a great way to show your guests how much your furry one means to you, and they serve as excellent huggable replacements if your pet decides to throw a fit and ignore you for a bit.

Up, up and… away?
Kitties love to climb up high, and to discourage them from getting too close to the windows, consider putting up bookshelves of different heights. These will satisfy Mr Snugglepuff’s natural urges to climb… and you won’t have to worry about him trying to base jump from the 15th floor.
