Now, 50 years later, the Sacco has inspired bean bag chairs of various shapes, sizes and materials. The original bean bag chair, however, is still sold, and decorates homes of design enthusiasts. Zanotta and its Singapore home, W. Atelier, celebrated the chair’s 50th anniversary with a re-design contest giving the Italian icon an Asian twist, and the winners and finalists are on exhibit at W. Atelier’s Henderson showroom till the end of the year.
