In the Master Bedroom episode, the contestants have to design a bedroom that will help a couple rekindle their romance

What does a bedroom need in order to help a couple married for over 10 years renew their excitement and passion for each other again?
In this episode of The Apartment, head judge Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, judge-mentor Tyler Wisler and guest judge, interior stylist Marilen Faustino-Montenegro challenged the contestants to design a bedroom that’s both a retreat and a romance-booster. With 11 contestants remaining and divided into four teams, the judges saw four bedrooms – two of which were similar in their red and grey palettes – but only one nailed the brief.

Seron, who came up with the concept, explained the idea of Santorini: “Win where you’re happiest – your honeymoon.” Despite some team drama, the trio agreed on their hypothetical client as having celebrated their honeymoon ten years ago in the romantic Greek island.

“I can honestly say that your room is better than Santorini,” head judge Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen said during Design Court, when the team’s design was declared the winner.
Nadia, Seron and Adrien used Dulux Velvet to create an ombre effect on the wall facing the bed. They also customised a feature with rounded arches, painted in Dulux gloss white for the headboard to sit against. A woven natural fibre headboard contrasted the glossy built-in, guest judge Marilen Faustino-Montenegro observed.
More natural materials that enhance the luxurious island retreat ambience appear in the form of woven baskets and rugs, and thoughtfully selected wooden furniture.
