The Apartment's Judge's Loft Winning Design is the Cat's Meow
The contestants have to design a loft for one of the judges – which team will interpret a judge's personal style best?

In this episode of The Apartment, judge-mentor Tyler Wisler challenged the remaining three groups of contestants to design a loft space for one of the judges. Each of the judges – Tyler, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and Cat Arambulo-Antonio – left a clue to what they wanted their space to be like to the group assigned to design their loft. The groups had to research their assigned judge and translate that judge’s personal style into the loft’s interior design.
Team Jesus – three guys who were lucky to choose judge and style influencer Cat as their ‘client’ – won this challenge with their high-fashion-inspired Art Deco loft.

Room at a Glance: Judge’s Loft
Who is it designed for: Cat Arambulo-Antonio
Designers: Team Jesus, comprising Adrien, James and Jesus
Cat left the boys a ring light – one of the tools of the trade of a beauty guru. Team leader Jesus immediately identified the strange contraption, and knew instantly that the loft had to be a space which Cat could use to shoot her fashion and beauty content.
Taking a cue from what she wears on her social media posts, James and Adrien came up with a colour palette of gold and black, highlighted by Art Deco motifs.

James painstakingly painted the gold and black stripes from the stairwell, wrapping around the window corner and culminating at the console. “I almost killed myself doing those stripes,” he said.
“There are a lot of stripes in there,” head judge Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen said during Design Court. “I absolutely love them.

Adrien worked on the additional challenge of incorporating Dulux Ambiance Colour Motion paint as a feature wall in the room. Colour Motion was formulated to change colour according to the angle the viewer is seeing it in a room, creating a lenticular effect. To go with the Art Deco theme, Adrien painted a scallop design that he called “Mermazing”.
James, who described Cat as “edgy and sophisticated”, curated the lighting and accessories. He also worked on Cat’s logo that the group incorporated over the console.
“Over all, the room was great,” Cat said at Design Court. “It makes a statement. So I’m happy.”
