In my current rental, there is no kitchen DESIGN; the kitchen is just the place where a stove and sink were stashed, decades ago. Counter space is about 20" on each side of the sink, the stove is on the opposite wall with NO counter space at all. No fridge came with it, so mine (we can't figure out how to swap the hinges) sits left of the stove, in a corner because that's where the only outlet is, besides the one to the left of the sink, for the coffee maker, which means my dish drainer (I'm the dishwasher!) is on the wrong side since I'm right handed. Thank goodness for the kitchen table, with chairs that I work around, because that's the only "prep space" there is. Work triangle? Ha! Work maze is more descriptive. If my path were traced while making a simple meal, it would make you dizzy and crazy! Looking forward to moving!!! And I would be wild with glee to have any of these kitchens because they were obviously PLANNED instead of thrown together in the cheapest way possible. (Did I mention that the "backsplash" is a 2'x3' sheet of particle board?)

We went for a one wall kitchen in our beach house which we just finished. We did not need a bench at this stage, and did not want to clutter the room. Eat out most nights or use the deck anyway. Photos below

just love this idea, so airy, will consider this when its time for my dream kitchen. I was thinking something is wrong with me not wanting a island or peninsula shape kitchen, would it look boring. Butluvvvv it
