Meet local designers, understand their services and see their award-winning works during Singapore Design Week 2017
If you’ve ever wondered about the difference between a professional interior designer and a contractor, or are looking for one to commission for your renovation, the Interior Design Confederation Singapore (IDCS) is hosting dialogues and educational talks that are open to the public during Singapore Design Week (March 3-12).
You’ll see winning works such as RT+Q Architects‘ double height living room (top) and 0932 Design Consultants‘ design of a Hong Kong apartment (above), and more.

There are two ticketed talks called Living Room Chats with Interior Designers.
On March 4, 3-5pm, Dr. Jawn Lim of the Singapore Institute of Technology leads a panel in explaining What is Interior Design and Who is an Interior Designer?.
This event covers who is qualified to do interior design, what you need and can do when conceptualising your home (or business)’s design, and make better informed choices. The panel includes other professionals who are involved in renovation works.

On March 6, 7-9pm, IDCS is hosting a forum on the Roadmap for Accreditation. If you’re working in the interior design industry in Singapore, you’ll hear about the accreditation scheme and how it impacts the profession in the near future.
The forum will be at VLV Courtyard, Clarke Quay, with ticketing online and at the door.

Professional Seminars are held throughout the week. Houzz is presenting the Impact of Technology on Interior Design on March 7, 4-6pm. A discussion follows with panelists Amy Picanco of Aym Design and Alan Fan of Topos Design Studio.

Other highlights of the Interior Design Festival are the Signing of Interior Designers Code of Professional Conduct on March 10, 4-6pm, at VLV Level 1, Clarke Quay; and IDCS at the International Furniture Fair Singapore: The Interior Design Professional Code of Conduct and How IDCS can help Interior Design Businesses, on March 11 at the Singapore Expo.
The exhibition is at VLV Level 1, Clarke Quay, and is open to the public on March 4-5, from 12-6pm.
