RW Anderson Homes
Interior Design by ecd Design LLC
This newly remodeled home was transformed top to bottom. It is, as all good art should be “A little something of the past and a little something of the future.” We kept the old world charm of the Tudor style, (a popular American theme harkening back to Great Britain in the 1500’s) and combined it with the modern amenities and design that many of us have come to love and appreciate. In the process, we created something truly unique and inspiring.

Eileen Gray inspired bench seat – The Bibendum Chair was itself a reference to the famous Michelin Man, also named Bibendum. Easy to draw but difficult to execute: the sculpting of the foam stuffing and the double curving at the ends posed a number of challenges for the upholsterer. The base of the joinery is panelled with stained American oak veneers with routed “V” grooves.

A spacious colonial in the heart of the waterfront community of Greenhaven still had its original 1950s kitchen. A renovation without an addition added space by reconfiguring, and the wall between kitchen and family room was removed to create open flow. A beautiful banquette was built where the family can enjoy breakfast overlooking the pool. Kitchen Design: Studio Dearborn. Interior decorating by Lorraine Levinson. All appliances: Thermador. Countertops: Pental Quartz Lattice. Hardware: Top Knobs Chareau Series Emerald Pulls and knobs. Stools and pendant lights: West Elm. Photography: Jeff McNamara.

Continuing the lines of the existing wrap-around porch, we were able to create a family kitchen with a raised ceiling culminating in a large skylight. The warmth of natural lighting highlights the palate of the material selection. The kitchen extends out to a new deck and yard beyond.
