Top bunk raised higher for more space between beds = no more bumped heads on the bottom. Iconic by Kaitlyn WolfeWe were delighted to find out a previous client of ours was expecting another baby! We were tasked to design a nursery that was calming, masculine and playful. We incorporated a curated gallery wall, ceiling mural and LED baby name sign that cannot be forgotten! Within this small space, we had to include a crib, rocking chair, changing table and daybed. We were focused on making it functional for not only the baby but also for the parents. The fur rug is not only extremely comfortable, but also machine washable - that's a win-win! The layered jute rug underneath creates visual interest and texture. The striped ottoman, black daybed and leather drawer pulls bring the masculinity to the room. We had a custom LED baby name sign made for over the crib, which can be dimmed to any brightness and is safe for children (unlike neon). Baby Andres was born on May 11th. 2020.

We then went on to furnish and accessorize all their main living spaces and bedrooms in a style that was both modern yet timeless. We incorporated the work of independent local artists to create a layered home that represented our clients and their style. We are so proud of the haven we’ve created!
Mattson & CompanyThis nursery was a low-budget, DIY job. The idea was to create a space that both baby and momma could be comfortable in, and enjoy spending a lot of hours in (particularly in the first few months!). The theme started as "sophisticated gender neutral with subtle elements of whimsy and nature" - and I think we achieved that! The space was only 8' x 10', so storage solutions were key. The closet drawers and side table were both (very worn) antique pieces that were given a new life!

Kirsten Johnstone Architecture (formerly Eco Edge Architecture + Interior Design) has applied personal and professional experience in the design of the built-in joinery here. The fun of a window seat includes storage drawers below which seamlessly transitions into a desk with overhead cupboards and an open bookshelf dividing element. Floor to ceiling built-in robes includes double height hanging, drawers, shoe storage and shelves ensuring a place for everything (who left those shoes out!?).
