“Up in the air” is the concept used for the small girl’s bedroom. The young girls requested to have a bunk bed where she could go up and play or hide and the secondly to use her favorite color pink. The walls are painted in a lovely soothing onion pink. White cloud shaped storage boxes for her soft toys along with star shaped decals all over to give it the dreamy floating feel. The bunk bed is designed as a white house shaped bed with the bed being below and upstairs as the play area. The cupboards are in shapes of houses with a shades of pink, grey and white. The central light is in the shape of a balloon giving the image of the balloon flying amidst the cotton candy star light sky.

This boy's bedroom goes from toddler to teens with very little change necessary. All of the elements - furniture, carpet and color scheme - are ageless. A sports theme adds interest and fun to the bedding, lamps, and wall hangings.

Plenty if storage is a must in a playroom and our clients chose to include both a bench and a wooden bay window seat storage unit. CLPM project manager tip - fitted cupboards can be bought from bespoke fitted furniture companies nut they can be quite expensive. A cheaper alternative is to get an experienced carpenter to make and install them onsite.

We were delighted to find out a previous client of ours was expecting another baby! We were tasked to design a nursery that was calming, masculine and playful. We incorporated a curated gallery wall, ceiling mural and LED baby name sign that cannot be forgotten! Within this small space, we had to include a crib, rocking chair, changing table and daybed. We were focused on making it functional for not only the baby but also for the parents. The fur rug is not only extremely comfortable, but also machine washable - that's a win-win! The layered jute rug underneath creates visual interest and texture. The striped ottoman, black daybed and leather drawer pulls bring the masculinity to the room. We had a custom LED baby name sign made for over the crib, which can be dimmed to any brightness and is safe for children (unlike neon). Baby Andres was born on May 11th. 2020.

We built this adorable playhouse under the staircase to help store toys and create a play area for the kids. It was important to our clients to have the basement not feel like a basement. We accomplished this by keeping the trim white, adding custom bookcases and installing a wood plank tile throughout. PC: Spacecrafting Photography

What could be more fun than a slide in your bedroom? This playful room was designed for two imaginative little girls, ages two and four. Everything from the slide bunk beds, princess castle canopy, tea party area, and child sized sofa was designed with these two beauties in mind. We striped some of the walls in a green-yellow while wallpapering the others in an Osborne & Little wallpaper. Laney designed a custom chalkboard with scalloped edges and custom window treatments that frame the window seat and closet. Nothing was left to chance including the ceiling which features a ribbon mural over the princess tower!

As a recently purchased home, our clients quickly decided they needed to make some major adjustments. The home was pretty outdated and didn’t speak to the young family’s unique style, but we wanted to keep the welcoming character of this Mediterranean bungalow in tact. The classic white kitchen with a new layout is the perfect backdrop for the family. Brass accents add a touch of luster throughout and modernizes the fixtures and hardware. While the main common areas feature neutral color palettes, we quickly gave each room a burst of energy through bright accent colors and patterned textiles. The kids’ rooms are the most playful, showcasing bold wallcoverings, bright tones, and even a teepee tent reading nook. Designed by Joy Street Design serving Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco, and the whole of the East Bay. Nurseries and kids bedrooms are more than just a place to sleep. For parents, a nursery is a place to feed, change and rock baby to sleep. Whereas for a child, their bedroom is a spot to do homework, play games, read, daydream, play with friends, stockpile toys... and get away from Mum and Dad! Ensure your child’s room can serve all these functions and more with interchangeable furniture and plenty of storage. Kids grow quickly, and so do their tastes, so use colours and accessories that can easily grow with your child, too. Involving your child and taking his or her design ideas into account will make this a really fun process, and will ensure their room feels like their own personal space.
