Active family friendly outdoor living includes basket ball court, in ground fire pit and wood deck. The wood deck has a horizontal wood privacy wall and cable rail guard rail off the Primary Bedroom Suite.

In the foreground the swimming pool is surrounded by natural stone to create a very calm and blue- gray palette. Stone steps defined by board form concrete wall access the main terrace of the back yard. The outdoor dining deck is on the right with an upper path to the left. The hot tub and cold plunge were given close access to the pool to navigate between the different temperatures easily. A variety of blue, and chartreuse plants create an interesting 'green' garden palette.

Already partially enclosed by an ipe fence and concrete wall, our client had a vision of an outdoor courtyard for entertaining on warm summer evenings since the space would be shaded by the house in the afternoon. He imagined the space with a water feature, lighting and paving surrounded by plants.
With our marching orders in place, we drew up a schematic plan quickly and met to review two options for the space. These options quickly coalesced and combined into a single vision for the space. A thick, 60” tall concrete wall would enclose the opening to the street – creating privacy and security, and making a bold statement. We knew the gate had to be interesting enough to stand up to the large concrete walls on either side, so we designed and had custom fabricated by Dennis Schleder (www.dennisschleder.com) a beautiful, visually dynamic metal gate. The gate has become the icing on the cake, all 300 pounds of it!
Other touches include drought tolerant planting, bluestone paving with pebble accents, crushed granite paving, LED accent lighting, and outdoor furniture. Both existing trees were retained and are thriving with their new soil. The garden was installed in December and our client is extremely happy with the results – so are we!

Homeowners with an eclectic 1960s bungalow in Lakeview came to us wanting to retain the original charm of the home’s brick walls and cedar beams. But they needed a modern update to bring in light and make the bungalow right for them into their retirement years.

This was a truly funky lakefront home with great bones and a midcentury feel. The goal was to incorporate an existing sunroom into the square footage of the home as well as take the dated yet ornamental exterior to an updated contemporary level.

This covered patio provides a great transitional space off of the living room. Speakers, built-in electric heating units and generous skylights make it a very comfortable outdoor room for entertainment.

An award winning backyard project that includes a two tone Limestone Finish patio, stepping stone pathways and basement walkout steps with cantilevered reveals.
