Your front door is the first impression guests will have of your home, so make sure it is a good one. A door that looks rundown will imply what lies beneath is in need of a desperate makeover. The overall architectural style of your home should be reflected in your door, but you can experiment with size and shape, and also mix things up with paint colours and quirky hardware. If your entrance is set back from the facade of your home, consider using a brighter colour palette and adding potted plants and a welcome mat to help make it stand out.
