Matt Kelsay's version of the chain of events is just as misleading as was his representation of himself in our initial contact. Matt Kelsay is not a homeowner, he works for a property investment company, Sweetwater Captiol Advisors. Had he advised me, that the property was not his property, I would have declined to help him. He told me that he had a contract on his home and that it needed some masonry repair so that it would not hold up the closing of the sale of his home. I advised him that we are very busy due to all of the repair work needed due to Hurricane Matthew, and that I would work it in as soon as possible. We completed the work the following week. I reached out to Kelsay via text, because that is how he had been communicating with me. He did not respond. When he did finally respond he asked for me to email the invoice. The next day he requested a W9. We filled out the form and sent it back immediately. He informed me that he would drop the check in the mail that day. 10 days passed with no check. I reached back out and informed Mr. Kelsay that if he did not respond we would place a lien on the property, which is a contractors only tool to recover funds owed by delinquent clients. At this point he informed me that it wasn't his property and the accountant forgot to send the check and that it was no big deal because he has a Net 30 days to pay. At no time was Net 30 ever discussed as an acceptable time frame to pay the bill. At that time I gave Mr. Kelsay another 4 days to pay the bill. We are a licensed general contracting firm. We don't sell products over the internet. We don't accept credit cards or paypal.

We have completed over 50 large projects for property investment companies in the past, and our experience has always been the same. They have all been slow to pay. Once again, had I known the work was for a property investment company, we would've declined the project. We have many local references that you can speak to, and view our work with your own eyes. It is a shame that I have to respond to a negative review not on the basis of our work but on the basis my willingness to take action to recover money that is owed to us.
