We were very pleased with the work that Albers Design did for us in helping us design and manage our renovation project. They provide a great combination of design ideas and suggestions along with drafting up the designs, working with the city for approvals, and overall project management to help manage all of the trades needed to complete our project. They also budgeted and helped keep track of the spending and helped us by pushing back on contractors if something wasn't done right or on time/on budget. While a renovation is never without bumps in the road (like the unexpected issues you uncover after you begin), overall we are pleased that we had the Albers Design team on our side - I'm not sure we could have done it without them!

Albers Design offers the perfect combination of professionalism, creativity and flexibility. What began as a need for a 1980’s kitchen remodel, turned into the reimagination of our entire first floor. From the very first design meeting, it was clear that John and Lisa are experienced professionals. They offered several different architectural options and were very honest in their opinion of the pros and cons. Lisa did an incredible job at understanding our aesthetic, while offering design elements that challenged our comfort level. John helped us with a complex budget situation and constantly kept us apprised of costs. We also hired them to manage the construction from start to finish. I cannot recommend this enough. They have the detailed, experienced eye needed to make sure the job is done correctly and to the highest standard. Lisa and John are terrific listeners, amazing design partners and consummate professionals. We cannot wait to work with them again!

Lisa was a great partner when we remodeled our home. She has a great eye and while heard everything we wanted, also introduced us to additional thoughts and perspective. We updated our entire main level, updating cabinets, new office layout and a fireplace redo that was amazing. Her perspective on color and finishes was dead on. John stepped in an covered many of the bigger items. Favorite part was how Lisa partners. She's great at ideas and communication.

We had a fabulous experience working with Albers Design remodeling our kitchen. Lisa was so adept at listening and understanding how we use our space and our aesthetics. Her design beautifully integrated vintage elegance with modern functionality, incorporating so many lovely details and creative solutions for the quirky spaces of our 1897 house. It is now our favorite room in our home! We also had Lisa and John do the construction management and highly recommend them to shepherd your project from idea to finish. Even when our old house threw in the inevitable plumbing and structural surprises, Lisa and John worked with the contractors/craftsmen to problem-solve calmly, efficiently, and with good humor. Their ability to plan, communicate, stay on budget, and coordinate of all the crews made for a smooth project. We couldn’t be happier to have chosen Albers Design!

I hired Lisa and John to remodel my kitchen and family room area. It was completely gutted and transformed into a space where our family spends all its time. A project I dreaded turned out to be smooth, painless and stress free. They are both creative, talented, hard working and honest people. I never questionned any of their suggestions and trusted them to present the best options and solutions for me. I would not hesitate to hire them again and hope we get the opportunity to work on another one of my many projects.

Our work with Albers design started a few years ago with a small project to update the decor/furnishings in a couple of rooms on our main floor. Because of how pleased we were with both the results and process, we decided to work with them on a complete remodel of our basement. This was a project we had been wanting to do, but didn't have the courage to take it on until we worked with Lisa and John. The basement remodel included adding a fireplace, a home gyn, a large bar area, custom built-ins as well as a refinishing an existing bathroom. The project was large and complex, but Albers Design made it smooth and painless from our initial design meetings through to its completion. Lisa kept us abreast each week of what was scheduled for the week to come and was in constant contact with us about any changes that arose to the schedule. Lisa managed all of the subcontractors, who all seemed to have a great working relationship with her, and worked with us on selecting all of the materials and finishes---some we wanted more input on and some we were happy to let her select because we had grown so comfortable with her knowing our tastes. We are thrilled with this beautiful, new living space and after completing a project of this magnitude using ONE firm for both design and construction/project management, I don't think I would ever approach a remodel any other way. Again, once this large project was successfully completed, we turned to Albers Design to help with some small changes in our kitchen which involved both cabinetry and tile--these small changes made a huge impact on updating our kitchen. At the same time, we also had Lisa design/manage the redecorating of our master bedroom, while retaining a few pieces of our existing furniture. She designed and managed the addition of some built-in cabinetry as well as help us select some accent pieces of furniture/bedding/artwork to complete her design, Finally, we just completed a minor renovation to two bathrooms with Albers Design. We charged Lisa with updating two kids' bathrooms within a given limited budget. We wanted the 19-year old bathrooms to look fresh and modern without completely "gutting" them. Lisa worked with us on what changes we could make within our budget that would accomplish our goal. In about 4-weeks, we had two updated and sleek "new" bathrooms while staying 5-10% under budget. Again, this was a painless project with a wonderful result.

We interviewed 3 other designers before choosing John and Lisa. We felt they did the best job in really getting to know what we not only wanted, but needed for our growing family and life style. They knew that we were concerned about our budget and worked well with that. We are so happy that we went with them and would highly recommend them. We now have the kitchen and entertainment area that we had dreamed of for a long time.

Lisa and John are a great team. They know how to work well with each other, as well with clients and subcontractor. Country Cabinets is always excited when a projects come from this team. They have details in order, they are not afraid to ask questions, and are always open for suggestions. Lisa, has a great creative side is willing to put in the extra effort to make sure the client is always happy.

I chose to work with Lisa because I had a very specific "feel" that I wanted in my new home, and I bought my house trusting that somehow it could be transformed from a 1950's rambler to my cabin in the city. And while I knew how I wanted it to feel, I wasn't altogether sure how to get there, most especially in the small kitchen, after I tore out a big wall and put in a masonry wood stove. Lisa came up with absolutely amazing ideas for my small kitchen space that maximized the function and held to the rustic feel I wanted. I told her I needed her to use her designer super-powers to see through walls and envision the future. And Lisa did just that! I really can't say enough about the help, patience, and ideas Lisa offered as I struggled toward many decisions. With the input of many friends and Lisa's deep skills, I wound up with my cabin in the city. A place that is truly Home.

Lisa Albers designed my kitchen, bathroom, and pantry. Our home was built in 1907 and had a small kitchen. Our kitchen table was in an area that was a main floor bedroom. The table was separated from the cooking area and was rarely used. Our original plan was to simply upgrade the kitchen. Lisa encouraged us to create a large kitchen, pantry, and full bathroom by combining the current kitchen with the small bedroom and half bath. It is beautifully designed, colorful, classy, and allows the entire family to be together in one room. I love the pantry/mud room, main floor full bath, and the large eat in kitchen. Lisa is professional, creative, and delightful. I would recommend her to anyone planning to build or remodel. We are thrilled with the outcome of our project!

I was doing a large kitchen renovation on an older foreclosed home; the deliverable was a kitchen layout. I was open to making major changes while also attempting to minimize the costs associated with moving utilities. Albers Design provided several free in-home consultations with a designer and architect to assess the space and get a sense for my desired aesthetic. They generated digital plans from schematics I had already created which also reduced cost. They provided several design iterations and were very responsive via email and in-person to desired changes. Their capability was far reaching; the final layout incorporated several non-traditional aspects, it wasn't just the same reused cookie-cutter design. The layout was customized to the available space and desired features, like custom concrete counter-tops, incorporated. The overall experience was wonderful. I would highly recommend Albers Design and intend to do business again.

Lisa was hired to plan a new expanded bathroom space in my 1925 home. She had a very creative approach to the space planning, capturing some unused hallway storage into the bath. She helped with selection of glass tile, marble, and fixtures, lighting fixtures and recessed lighting, paint colors and floor tile. She also sourced production of a pocket door and glass stall shower. And she was able to go "out of the box" when we were designing a bathroom mirror that is suspended on cables floating above the sink. I enjoyed working with Lisa from the initial design boards all the way through the application of finishing touches. She is easy going, a good listener and understands color, space and light.

Lisa worked with me on a guest bathroom remodeling project. Both the work experience and the end result were lovely. I had ideas about what I wanted, but with Lisa's help, the bathroom turned out better than I ever imagined. She brought the right mix of design flair, experience with construction timing and processes, knowledge of materials, and keen listening and collaborating skills to the table. I just love the new bathroom and get all sorts of nice compliments from guests.

Albers Design helped us redesign a new kitchen in an old house with enormous challenges. They figured out a way to open up the floor plan in ways no other designer had imagined, and in the process fixed many problems with the existing structure. Our only regret is that we didn't use Albers Design for the detailed design work. They also helped lay out a basement plan which we are implementing in a phased approach. I would definitely use them again.

I had used Albers Design for a couple of my other remodel projects, of which I was totally satisfied, so when I decided to update my main bathroom, it was only natural I would contact them again to both help with the design as well as act as general contractor. The project came in on time and on budget and the results are exactly what I wanted. I would go back to them in a heartbeat for future remodel projects, but I've run out of rooms to remodel.

Lisa provided a mini consultation to help me determine simple ways I could update and refresh my home and have it better fit my personality. She provided me with great ideas that were easy and fun to implement.

I purchased a foreclosed home and Lisa came in and helped me conceive my new kitchen. I challenged her to "work with what is" as much as possible -- and while she did that, she also came up with recommendations that changed the entire way the house flowed. The end result is cozy, unique, and highly functional. I get tons of compliments. I call Lisa anytime I have a design question -- if for a few hours of consulting or more. She is the bomb. She's won noteworthy awards for her blend of creativity, simplicity and great taste. Her husband is also a LEED certified architect so it's almost like you get both of them at once. She also works with high quality craftspeople and has recommendations for anyone you'd need as part of a project.

I am very impressed with the service I received from Lisa Albers. She was great to work with, and we ended up with a beautiful result. Lisa designed our kitchen, laundry/mudroom and office remodel, and managed the project. Because she was paid a flat fee, rather than a percentage of the project, I could trust that she would help me keep the costs down as much as possible. She also made excellent suggestions during the project, which made the end result even more fabulous.

Working with Lisa was a terrific experience! I had never worked with an interior designer before, but she made the process so smooth, and took time to listen and address my needs and concerns. I chose Lisa to develop the interior design for my attic expansion project that was to be a master bedroom and bathroom. The physical space was quite unique and challenging, but Lisa came up with innovative, creative ways to make the most of the space, resulting in a show-stopping suite that stayed on budget but looks like a million bucks! I highly recommend Lisa Albers, who designed my master bathroom. This was not a simple remodel project -- she helped transform an enclosed unheated porch into a master bathroom. Lisa’s expertise took the bathroom plan from nice to exceptional. Lisa understood my personal taste, explained suggestions and was a collaborative problem solver. Hiring a professional was such a good investment. Lisa took much of the stress out of making so many decisions, selecting the tile alone would have been daunting, with Lisa’s expertise she made this decision enjoyable.
