We were so incredibly happy with the work Andy and his team did at our house. They built a beautiful portico and added railing to our front steps. The work they did fit seamlessly into the design of the front and completely changed the overall look of the house. They were timely and came in on budget. We would definitely use them again.

We chose Benchmark Builders to oversee a gut renovation of & addition to our home in 2015. We chose Andy over 4 other contractors because his bid was the most thorough and detailed of the contractors who came through. The extra work he put in during the bidding process avoided surprises during the project and kept our project on schedule (we actually finished 6 weeks early!) and on budget. Andy worked hand in hand with our architect to ensure our design was followed correctly and coordinated as required with subcontractors. His strong working relationship with his subcontractors ensured we did not have any no show days or lost work. The various trades were always on site when needed and knew what work needed to be done before they were on site. Andy is the best contractor I've worked with and would recommend him to anyone without reservation.

We hired Benchmark to renovate our master bedroom and bath last year. The entire project was handled with the utmost professionalism and completed on time. Every one of his subcontractors was terrific and we have since engaged them when we have had a need after contact Andrew for permission. With absolutely no hesitation we award him 5 stars!

Andy Payne has been our contractor since 2007 when we bought a fixer-upper. The project was done in three phases. The first phase was a gut renovation on the house, including all new electric wiring and plumbing and conversion from oil to propane. We completely renovated one bathroom and created a second in what was a small bedroom. Custom stone work on the outside of the house and new cement-based shingles on the house. New wide oak flooring throughout the first floor, new kitchen, an elevator, a partially finished basement rec room and extraordinary details throughout, such as custom woodworking in many rooms. After the first phase, I wasn’t interested in estimates from any other contractors. This was my responsibility to oversee, as my husband didn’t have the time to deal with the details. I was extremely pleased that Andy listened to me and more importantly, not only heard what I was saying, but also discussed it in a way that was professional and thoughtful. The end result of our many discussions led to a perfect result. The second phase was an addition to the main floor adding a new master bedroom suite, laundry room and front entrance. The third phase was a pool and pool house. The pool house has a stone façade, cedar interior, shower and changing room, two-piece powder room, custom benches, storage and space for a refrigerator. The attached pavilion has a cedar ceiling, gas lighting (also around the pool decking). We had unexpected drainage issues and these were dealt with quickly and thoroughly We appreciate of the high level of sub-contractors Andy retains; and their sensitivity and deference to someone’s living space, especially during phase two. What could have been a very difficult period of having the addition put on with the daily presence of workers was surprisingly easy. They were all gentlemen and very neat. We admire the craftsmanship of our home everyday and are so grateful for Andy’s expertise and professionalism. I very heartily recommend him.

We did a complete remodel of our guest bathroom. Andy was great to work with, he actually showed up promptly for every appointment. His demolition was clean and undistruptive, and the whole project was done according to the timeline he had promised. His sub-contractors were professional and friendly and did a great job. We have done many renovations in our home, and this was the first one to go smoothly without surprises and delays

Benchmark builders redid part of my kitchen - new cabinet fronts and extensive moldings. First of all Andy has extremely good taste and thought of small additions that made the whole project much nicer than anyone else could. He was prompt and communicative and proposals were on the mark. He hires only the subs that meet his critical standards.
