My husband and I have been clients of Ann's for over twenty years. She has helped us with so many projects - from completely planning and decorating our living room, dining room and master bedroom to helping with a major home remodel to outfitting a weekend home. She has exquisite taste and helps me make choices that I would be too timid to make on my own. At the same time, she really listens and is never overbearing. I have collaborated with Ann Kenkel on successful design projects for over 20 years. I love how she brings professional insight to the project. She listens to her clients and finds creative interior design solutions. As an architect, I appreciate her ability to visualize projects that are still in the schematic design phase and her ability to present her ideas to the clients.

-Ann and our family has a 20-year design relationship. The first project was decorating the house and being very practical with fabrics which would be suitable for young children and dogs. -I then used Ann to decorate my office in one week. We shopped local stores together and the finished product was perfect. -The second project was advising on building a large, custom home. Although we had an excellent architect, it was enormously helpful to have Ann review the plans and make adjustments. As an interior designer Ann has extensive skills in space planning, home building, renovation and develops an intimate knowledge of how a house should function to meet a client's needs. To assist in making the choices, Ann used her 3d drafting program to show us in 3d photographs, exactly what rooms would look like as planned and what they would look like with alterations. Ann has created a hybrid 3d product which is very affordable, and fully meets the need to understand how the end product will look. We are convinced that it was very wise to have Ann involved early in the design process because she encouraged us to decide on furniture plans, in advance, to ensure the final plan was perfect for how we wanted our house to function. -We sought consulting with her throughout the process. We now understand why many of her clients call her the “navigator” and the “interpretor”. -Her involvement gave us a level of comfort that the transition from the architect to the builder would be smooth and any missing details would be remedied. Personally, she is delightful, very easy going, and fun to be with. She makes a tedious task, not so tedious and enjoyable. We could not recommend her more highly.

We have worked with Ann Kenkel over a 10 year period and she is exceptional. Ann helped us with the interior design of our entire home - phase 1 was about 10 years ago and phase 2 was in 2014. We are thrilled with everything she did and her designs are timeless. Ann is the consummate professional with terrific design instincts, creative ideas and meticulous attention to detail and follow-up which is crucial with suppliers. She works tirelessly on behalf of her clients and is a delight to work with. Ann really listens to her clients and draws out what they like so that in the end she creates a design that really reflects her clients’ desires. She came to our home and worked around our schedules and kept the project on track by offering to do conference calls and screen shares whenever we wanted. Ann creates beautiful designs for every budget. She tailors suggestions, offering informed, valuable and effective guidance about fabric, carpet, furniture, window treatments and wall finishings that fit your budget without compromising beauty and style. She also provides valuable guidance about where you might want to cut back or lean in and spend a little more. Ann did 3-D drafting at various points in the project to help us better envision how a room would look from multiple angles with various fabric scenarios and furniture choices. This was very helpful. I highly recommend Ann for any interior design project.

Ann is a true professional and we have her to thank for her vision, and persistence in helping us to see what could be accomplished in our home through her architectural vision for space planning and her 3D drafting. She is multi-talented, has great taste, and has a long history in this business. She is constantly reinventing herself by keeping current with the new trends, and technological tools for maximizing her ability to allow you to envision a 3d plan, even in advance of breaking ground. She is a master at creating beautiful floral arrangements to creating extensive, and strong, renovation plans that take in to account every budget from the most frugal to "no holds barred". She was also helpful in purchasing items from internet sites, and local stores. She is very personable, and a pleasure to work with. I'll never forget her story of one client who trusted her enough when she first started her business to redesign a 600 passenger cruise ship. She figured it out, and made it happen in record time with the most ingenious, and clever ways while saving him money.

Ann Kenkel is absolutely brilliant, she has provided invaluable design guidance to me over the years that has saved me thousands of dollars. I buy and renovate properties for a living. Ann's advice on products and style provide me the high end look without the high end price tag. Most importantly, when I am considering structural changes Ann’s 3D drafting and architectural skills have been critical -- her 3D photorealistic renderings make the entire project more cost effective as they provide a clear authentic-looking version of the structure so I know exactly what the end result will look like. Ann is extraordinarily knowledgeable about construction, has very sophisticated design aesthetic and is an easy and lovely person to work with -- I am most fortunate to have found her and cannot recommend her highly enough for a construction or decorating project!

Ann Kenkel is a fabulous interior designer. We worked with her on a complete home renovation in McLean, Virginia in 2003-2004. Ann has extensive design knowledge and decorating skills. She connected us with quality craftsmen to implement our work. We were very pleased with her choice of contractor, painters, carpet fabricators, drapery fabricators, and furniture suppliers. Ann is a delight to work with and her taste is exquisite. I'd recommend her highly for any job!
