We needed Pete to design a remodel after a tree landed on our house during a storm. He did an amazing job designing a beautiful home working with our existing first floor and creating the layout and space we needed on the second floor. We highly recommend Pete for any design/build needs!

When I enlisted Peter to design the addition and major renovation of my itty-bitty depression-era farmhouse, I knew it was going to be a tall order to turn the tiny, chopped up, shanty into someplace I could feel at home. In addition to that, my budget was fairly aggressive and I needed to do the renovations in two phases to facilitate living in my home through the whole process. What should have been a nightmare was a really fun process with Peter and his team of professionals. Peter gave me several iterations which I was able to view in three dimensions and make changes, all while keeping my budget in mind. Peter listened and incorporated my desires while giving me expert advice on how I could improve flow, layout and aesthetic. The resulting drawings are of an antique farmhouse with a modern fusion that i can build in my budget. The process was fun and simple from start to finish and was exactly how a design/build project should be approached.

Archia Homes worked with us to renovate and expand our kitchen. The team listened to our ideas and helped bring that vision to life. Details like exposed reclaimed beams, a gas fireplace, and shiplap ceiling brought character to the space; without their expertise and high end finishes, we never could have accomplished this final product. During a late October 2021 storm, the crown of a very large oak tree fell on the roof of our home, causing substantial exterior roof and trim/fascia damage, as well as penetrating the interior ceiling, thereby allowing in rain. Within a few hours after contacting Archia the next day, they sent a crew to temporarily patch the roof and remove the dislodged interior beam that was hanging from the coffered ceiling (thereby preventing further damage). Over the next few weeks, Archia handled all of the permanent exterior and interior repairs. All this was done on a very timely, high quality and cost-effective basis, despite the general shortages of building materials and tradespersons. We worked with Archia Homes to reimagine our 200+ year old antique cottage in Scituate Harbor. We were looking for a builder who could support full scale construction, along with all of the nuances that come with an antique home and Pete Stames, Heidi Petrowicz and their team did just that. They tore down additions that had been tacked on over the years and excavated a new foundation, while also reinforcing the original antique foundation, and addressed a variety of other issues. This layer of the project was something we were very nervous about, but Archia tackled it head on. Along with this, they reworked a larger mudroom into a new master en suite bathroom, a laundry room, and a powder room. This took a lot of creative design on Pete’s part to make happen. The new addition houses our Kitchen, walk in pantry, a bar area, and a living room that opens up to a balcony deck. In most of these spaces we incorporated some really nice millwork on the walls and cathedral ceilings that turned out phenomenal. They set us up with their custom cabinetry partner to allow us to maximize the space in our smaller home. Archia achieved absolutely beautiful design. They are creative and collaborative and work with superior sub’s and partners. The craftsmanship in everything they did was superb and we highly recommend them.

We first reached out to Heidi and Peter when we were looking to purchase a home. We had picked out a house that we intended to completely renovate / add to, but ultimately couldn’t purchase the property for a reasonable price. They were so helpful during our in person meeting to understand ballpark costs associated with the project. Finally once we found a home we decided on and moved into we discovered exterior painting wasn’t holding up. They recommended hardie plank which is what we decided on. What started as a siding replacement turned into a complete exterior renovation - windows, siding, trim, gutters and the addition of a front porch. We would recommend them for their knowledge in a reno project and also any exterior work which is what we ultimately used them for. We will never have to touch the exterior of the home now with fiber cement siding and pvc trim. Peter designed the front porch within budget and the team worked with a surveyor and the town to ensure the project ran smoothly. Thanks!

Prior to our involvement, Archia had completely renovated the home that we ultimately purchased earlier this year. We fell in love with the quality, uniqueness, design and overall workmanship. We were so impressed that we sought out Archia to design and build a screen porch and an interior bar. Both projects were on time and in budget, came out better than we could have hoped, and iwas because Peter Stames and his team guided us every step of the way. Archia was our design and build partner for a large renovation to our Victorian era 1910 farmhouse. Essentially, we pushed out the back of the house 8 feet for three floors which included basement, first and second floors. We also added a smaller (6 feet) bump out on the first floor that included a mudroom and full bath. At the end of the project, it was both a renovation and restoration job that included a new kitchen and family room, pantry, outside deck with privacy wall, mudroom, three bathrooms and master bedroom suite. We lived in the house during the renovation so experienced first-hand the high standards that Peter and his team are committed to. There was never a time that work was not progressing as discussed, a question was not answered in a timely manner or issue not resolved. Peter and his team did a fabulous job, from design to execution. Peter’s expertise and vision kept the charm of our 100 plus year house, while creating an updated home that fits today’s world. The roof lines and proportion of the house look like it was originally built this way; the interior details replicate the older house style – from molding to ceiling finishes. We worked with Archia on a very large and complicated project to add on a large living room, screen porch, powder room, mud room and foyer as well as attach the house to the garage. Peter has a deep understanding and appreciation of architecture and design. He is an expert in the industry with incredible design sensibility. He was also very easy to work with, and willing to work in a collaborative fashion around design, ideas, and working within our budget. He also runs his business in an efficient and reasonable manner and his team and his contractors were all a pleasure to work with. We would use Archia again, and we would be sure to write as many details in to the plan as possible early in the process rather than make decisions as we go. We recently completed a year long project which included a renovation of an 1867 antique colonial and a 1400 sq. ft addition. Our goal was to update the entire house while keeping the look and charm of an old house. Archia Homes, Peter Stames and his team couldn't of done a better job. The quality and craftsmanship that went into this project was top notch and exceeded our expectations. Peter's project management, creativity and design skills were invaluable. Our primary concerns were timing and budget and we were not disappointed. Peter and his team met every deadline even when we added tasks to the project. This is the second project we have worked with Peter on. The first one was a new kitchen and entertainment room in our family home. He and his team did an exceptional job and delivered a dream kitchen for my wife and a great comfortable TV room. So when we moved back to town and bought a small beach house to rebuild, there was no question on who to call. Peter worked with us to design the house from scratch, taking into consideration our tastes and helping us design a great "upside down" house that would maximise our views of both the marsh and the ocean. He and his team did a fantastic job as far as quality, timelines and cost. But more importantly, the communication and his ability to adapt as we progressed or made changes was critical to the success of our project, particularly as we were living in the UK at the time - adding a degree of complication. In the end, we have a fantastic new home, the fit and finish and every detail is high quality and extremely sturdy. The project was done on time and on budget and we strongly reccomend Peter for projects of any size.

I was referred to Peter by a dear friend who is a Realstate Attorney and did a lot of research to find the best company to build her home! Archia Homes handled our recent renovation and addition with complete thoughtfulness, expertise and a very high level of sophistication. There was no idea we had that Peter didn't perfect, and then make happen. This includes a trap door in our kitchen floor, under a moveable island, for access to our basement. Archia demolished our 1950s 3 bedroom 2 bathroom rancher and rebuilt a 2-story 5 bedroom 6.5 bathroom shingle house in its place. We searched for 1 entire year for a builder that we felt we could trust and interviewed many builders before settling on Archia. Peter Stames at Archia Homes is one of the best kept secrets on the South Shore. The Project included the design-build as well as project management through construction of the house. The project got off to a slow start due to permitting issues, but ramped up very quickly after the actual work started. Then, we had what is called "snowmageddon" here in MA. We lost very little time due to the record-setting weather -- Archia's team worked 6 days a week in freezing rain, 5 feet of snow and record low temps. Archia's project managers Matt and Chris, were committed, dedicated and highly responsive to all of our requests. There was a clear commitment to quality of construction and customer satisfaction and the many tradesmen that Archia hired for this project were personable, helpful and seemed to take personal pride in their craftsmanship. We also used Archia's color consultant for tile and other finishes and she was excellent to work with as well. Overall, the project went over budget, but then again, what we have now is a beautiful, brand new house that fits into the neighborhood and reflects our personal style. The kitchen is the focal point of the house and its a show-stopper. We are still doing finishing touches now, but overall we are quite pleased with Archia's work on this project.

We hired Archia Homes to do a complete kitchen bump-out/remodel as well as 2 bathroom renovations. From the beginning of the project, Peter listened to our ideas, added his own, and created plans and drawings that were exciting to imagine. Through a well-mapped out process, that included constant on-line updates, milestones, and time projections, the drawings came to life. We couldn't be happier with the work. We are nearing the completion of our building project with Archia and are extremely pleased with the results. Operating on a tight budget, Peter and Chris were able to meet our needs and we now have a lovely, well equipped cottage style home that is as beautiful to look at as it is functional to live in. Archia is incredibly professional and well organized. We are currently working with them again on a second large scale project. They have re-done our kitchen, powder room, dining room, family room, office, parts of our living room, master closets, master bath, entire basement, added a half bath, garage, porch and outdoor space. From stunning built-ins and cabinetry, to molding and detailed ceilings, their work is beautiful. Not to mention, they have coordinated all of the smaller pieces that go into a remodel of the house such as the painting, lighting, heating, an alarm system, roof work etc. I trust their design ideas as well as all of their sub contractors who are honest, thoughtful and hardworking. Archia provides several scenarios including different cost saving measures. For example in re-doing our deck there were different materials and we were given cost break downs of each so that we could make an informed decision. On another project, before going ahead with major repair work they found in the basement, they always made sure to contact us and inform us of what they thought was absolutely necessary and what would be nice but was not vital. Archia uses Co-Construct, an excellent website that enables the client and Archia to communicate daily with project updates, questions, selections, photos, etc. By using Co-Construct, all small details are remembered and attended to. We have had many different ideas for various parts of our house all of which they have worked with us to make a beautiful home. Archia is incredibly responsive to their clients' needs, whether it be through Co-Construct, site visits, phone calls or texts. We could not be happier with the work they do and the professionalism in which they carry it out.

Before my project began, I did a great deal of research and was very particular about the builder I wanted to work with. My project involved both a full-house renovation and a large addition, so I needed someone who was experienced with both. Recently I had the good fortune to be a guest at a stunning property Archia Homes had designed a 4100 ft. addition and renovation. The attention paid to the original post and beam detail was impressive; I can say the best I have ever come across as a designer. Flawlessly, It was transitioned into and carried through the addition. Some say that you can never beat an original, but Archia disproved that cliche by respecting the original design of the traditional island cottage while updating it through the imaginative incorporation of space, scale,and design. The overall effect of the Archia renovations to this home took my breathe away as I was staying in a perfectly transitional and clean rustic environment that mirrored the architecture of the environment and put me at ease in this calm-inducing space. Clean and crisp while traditional and beachy are difficult elements to balance, but Archia accomplished this mood with apparent ease and familiarity. Highly reccommended, Archia Homes is a beacon for those wishing to lead a comfortable, open, warm, spacious relaxed elegant life as their houses represent.

We didn't choose Archia at random. After seeing several friends' homes that had been upgraded by this team, we were convinced that they were the right people to handle our project. What started as a simple knockdown of a wall and a kitchen reno turned out to encompass a reconfiguration of part of our first floor which has markedly improved flow and appeal. We also discovered that previous work had been done to our house by plumbers that was beyond shoddy. A raised floor in one room revealed asbestos tile underneath. All of this was smoothly, effortlessly corrected by Archia without any sign of consternation. Occasionally, changes in our design choices were also managed by them in a seemingly effortless manner, although we are sure they had to hustle to make things happen. In the end, we have been rewarded by a beautiful, functional dream kitchen that uniformly draws compliments, and better yet, oohs and aahs.

Having lived in my home for 12 plus years and working on a vision to re-model and add to the house I finally decided to take the plunge. His attention to every detail far exceeded my expectations. Not only did he keep me grounded in regards to our budget but was able to do impressive work with the allowances provided. He was careful to collaborate with not only myself, but his contracted labor as well to provide the best possible results. I would say that Peter was able to execute my vision for the space and deliver a result that was truly magnificent in its finished product.
