What a fantastic experience building our home with Mike A and Dream Home. From the level of communication and organization to getting tricky details right, we couldn't be happier with how they handled the build process. Having a dedicated person (the wonderful Peter) handling paperwork & related logistics is a great help - something more contractors could benefit from. We were first drawn to Dream Home after seeing how smoothly a build of theirs was going not far from us, and were impressed by how subs were scheduled, and there seemed to be little wasted time in the schedule. Even with some "act of God" delays (weather issues, permit slowdowns at the city, etc.), we were still moved in 9 months after breaking ground. While no build is without moments of stress, this experience far surpassed our expectations (it was actually fun!) and we couldn't be happier with the final result. We were especially impressed with the level of care taken to insulate and seal the house at every step and ensure energy efficiency. Even with a below-freezing night, with no heater running, the house will only drop maybe a degree. Everyone on the Dream Home team was great to work with - Jessica has fantastic taste and helped us through the (seemingly endless at times) selections process - she even nailed our bathroom tile choice out of the gate. And Mike's right-hand-man Marv - well, I can't speak highly enough of Marv. All in all, they're a fantastic team, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to do another project with them.

Our experience with Dream Home Building & Design can be summed up in a comment made by Mike, the builder, as he turned the keys over to us: “take good care of my baby”. It was apparent throughout the design and building process that Mike and Peter were able to understand and help us make our vision a reality. Mike has a great eye for both exterior and interior design and his recommendations were extremely helpful in making decisions on materials, design elements and finish ideas. His experience in home design and aesthetics quickly became apparent and dealing with one person who was both the designer and builder made communication exceptionally easy. Both Mike and Peter were available to answer questions throughout the process which helped speed the construction along; as we came in on timeline and budget. At no point, did we ever feel quality was compromised or we had to settle for something we did not want. The overall design and building process was smooth, stress less, and FUN. The finished product exceeded our vision and the quality is apparent the minute you step in the front door. We feel our house is truly a Dream Home! From the very beginning of our 5-month remodel project, our relationship with Dream Home Building and Design felt like an authentic partnership. In fact, both Peter and Mike walked through the house and property with us before we purchased it to offer their expertise and to develop an understanding of our wants and needs. Every step of the way, they were hands-on, professional, reliable, and accessible. A remodel of a 36-year-old house comes with its fair share of surprises, and Mike and Peter were not only flexible as we enlarged the scope of our original plan, but also committed to minimizing costs while ensuring a quality finished product. Their experience and dedication have resulted in a beautiful home that boasts form and function and promises to meet our family's needs for years to come.

Mike and Dream Home is a true professional builder/designer who will deliver a first rate home or remodel project with quality, care, and attention to detail. He is knowledgable in LEED and "green" building methods and is always studying and incorporating the latest producing some of the more energy efficient homes in Central Oregon. What I find most impressive with Mike and Dream Home are his relationships with his clients and his ability to provide them with a positive project experience... A talented builder/designer I would work with again and refer to anyone.

In 2005 Mike designed our dream home and B&B. The house is uniquely beautiful-we always get rave reviews from visitors. They say “form follows function” and Mike achieved this in his design. Every square foot of space is functional and beautiful. We can entertain a large group of 40 for dinner with a kitchen design that allows for multiple chefs; a vaulted ceiling in the great room with an open floor plan. It was equally important that the home be cozy and intimate for just the two of us. Mike achieved this with the smaller spaces he designed off the great room. One of these was a piano room with a built-in window seat that was aptly named “the sun box” by one of our guests. It is a perfect use of small space. It was a pleasure to work with Mike. He always made himself available to us and truly wanted this house to reflect us. In the end Mike understood that this is our home and he wanted to make sure we were happy with every aspect of it.

Dream Home Building designed our home and built it. We worked with them from the foundation to finished product. Mike was an amazing general contractor. He was very hands on. Every time we stopped by, he was there. He encouraged us to stop by anytime. He paid attention to detail. He was patient with us when trying to make decisions and guided us when we needed his advice. To this day, he stays in contact with us. Our home is quality and well built. As our inspector said to us, "Mike did not cut any corners on this home." We love it.

We did a complete remodel of our master bathroom. Mike Ardeljan, the owner of Dream Home Building and Design, was great to work with. In particular, he was very upfront about cost and his profit, he directed me to good people to work with for tile selection, plumbing fixtures etc. When I choose to select something on my own (such as purchasing cabinets from Home Depot instead of doing custom cabinets) he was very flexible and agreeable about my choices. He was very available to discuss issues and be on site when it was needed. The final product was beautiful and very functional. Just what I wanted.

We hired Dream Home Builders to build our "dream home" after meeting the builder, Mike Ardeljan, while in Bend in fall 2012 when we were considering a move across country from Virginia to Oregon. We just happened to see a house under construction that appealed to our style, and lucky for us, Mike was on the site and gave us a tour of his almost completed house he was building for a client. We were wowed, to say the least. Green building is what we were interested in, as well as a contemporary design and this house offered it all. We talked with the home owners after completion and they couldn't say enough about Mike's talents in design and construction. Their home inspector even gave glowing reviews: " high quality workmanship" is what I remember and he couldn't have been more accurate. Mike approaches design from a "team effort" approach. He listens to your needs and wants and goes from there. We were involved every step of the way and enjoyed every moment. If you've ever built, which we had done three times, you may agree that building can be a rocking rollacoaster. Not this time. We are thrilled with our design and the quality of work. Mike is always available to answer our questions and to discuss ideas or concerns. He knows house building and obviously loves every phase of it. We can't say enough about Mike and his company.
