I had a very bad experience with architect Beata Szacillo of Bol Architecture. I paid $7000 for an architectural plan. There is an ordinance in Ocean Township that will not allow a permanent staircase to the attic. I was told that a variance would not be granted. A professional architect should have checked the ordinances (available online) before making a plan that would not be permitted. I spent $7000 for a plan that can’t be implemented. I feel cheated.

Debra, as we discussed, we had a conversation with the Planner of the City. who told us he was working to get that ordinance changed. He, as well as we, feel that this was not a reasonable ordinance. We explained to you that we were advised to wait a few months for this change so a variance would not be required. You were not "told that a variance would not be granted", We told you it might be granted but that if you wait there would be no need.
Either way, you decided not to move forward and requested all your money be returned .after we provided all the work. You even threatened to report us and then went to the architectural licencing board from which we were found not to have done anyuthing wrong. Had we given in to your threat and returned your money, WE would have been cheated. Beata and the rest of our firm did nothing except work in your best interest and provide you with profesional advice.

We hired Bol after meeting with a few other architects, none of which fully understood our needs and vision. From our first meeting, Beata quickly understood our overall goals and needs and honed in on them. She was able to make reasonable suggestions that honor our budget, needs and historic design of our home. Bol has been quick to respond to any questions we have and has been an absolute pleasure to work with. We can't recommend them enough!

Bol Architecture developed well coordinated drawings to expand our kitchen, crest a Sunroom and located a new 3 car garage at 1275 Denmark Road, Plainfield whose work represented a historical addition in accordance with City Historical approvals. Bol has skillfully and designed an elegant expansion for us and proved to be knowledgeable and professional. Architect Dave Buckman and super staff are seasoned professionals with a keen sense related to period details of the early 1900’s with common sense constructabiliy considerations. CJJ

We have worked with David Buckman and his associates on several residential and commercial projects. His plans are very detailed and accurate. His staff is very helpful and easy to work with. Our projects have run smoothly from the initial consultation with our client until completion. We would highly recommend David and his team on any and all residential/commercial projects, large or small, his attention to detail never wains.

I am the former Mayor of Morristown, New Jersey and I am a shareholder at Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper, P.C. I do a significant amount of, inter alia, land use. I have known Al Bol (BOL Architecture) for nearly 20 years. As a past Board member of Union Center National Bank, I have known Al in his capacity as Chairman of the Board. As a land use lawyer, I have worked with and used Al Bol as an expert witness. Al Bol is a gentleman and a delightful super individual; Al is the consummate professional. Al makes a great witness and his fine reputation precedes him at all of the various Boards. Al commands great respect and I recommend Al Bol very highly.
