Where do I begin???? I have purchased a home in the Cadence 55+ community and absolutely LOVE everything about it! I started this move back in February 2023,,, was living in another state and after my husband of 58 yrs passed away.. I needed to be closer to my son and family here in Meridian Idaho! "Mom! They are building this new really nice 55+ community just a street or so away from my house! Think about moving here,,, closer to us and so much better for you physically and mentally!. I did.. I investigated ..I bought.... & I just moved into my new beautiful 3 bedroom/2 bath home on September 21, of this year. The planning and moving experience to Cadence was absolutely made so easy by some wonderful people they have employed with Cadence and Brighton homes! Beginning with McKenna holding my hand literally thru the buying/planning process & then there was Jeremy & Josh and Sarah and a host of others that made my transition to Cadence such a smooth one.... right down to the title company Venture! Everyone was so easy to work with. I can't give enough praise for everyone here in the Cadence Community and just love my new Brighton home! I love my new home and the folks that are in this community, all so friendly & the clubhouse and all of the amenities is just what I needed! I'M HOME!

In general Brighton builds a pretty good house. They have a lot of nice features and build with quality materials. However with the rush to build new houses, there are some things which they did not do a great job on. There were a decent number of warranty items; things that should have been caught through a quality control process. These included misaligned cabinets with incorrect hinges, misaligned door hangs, broken stonework, missed painting, and problematic drywall in the garage. All of these were corrected as a part of warranty. The contractors that Brighton used to address warranty work did a good and thorough job. There were a few other issues. There were two small walls that were not straight (out of plumb) and even though the city inspector said they should correct one of these, Brighton refused. Also, Brighton was unwilling to complete an external washing of the house committed to during walkthrough (and the house was dirty) so we recommend that you get in writing anything committed to during walkthrough. Perhaps most surprising is Brighton did not insulate the garage which contains a bunch of plumbing. In a climate where there are often freezes during the winter nights this puts these pipes at risk. We measured the temperature last winter and were forced to heat the garage on the coldest nights. Brighton did not install ceiling fans with remotes and so changing speed on the fans is a problem, especially in the living area which requires a ladder.
