We selected Aurora Custom Homes for their expertise, professionalism and willingness to work collaboratively with us as we built our dream retirement home. They did not disappoint and we are very happy with the house. In fact, we were never frustrated or disappointed at any point in the process. Michael and Jeff spent a lot of time meeting with us at the very beginning of the design stage so they would understand how we lived and our vision for the house. They invested a lot of time with us initially but it was such a valuable stage because we would not be present for most of the build phase (we were out of state and even out of the country during most of the construction). We built up trust that they would build the house in our absence as we had envisioned. Communication was excellent. Aurora kept us updated continually via photos, email, text and buildertrend.com. All their staff and contractors were great; they cared about their work and were determined to deliver quality craftsmanship. Whenever there was a decision or issue, we worked as a team and relied on Aurora's expertise and experience for guiding us to a solution. Our move in date was slightly delayed due to hurricane disruptions but Aurora worked to get us into the house by Christmas at our request. The only "blip" was that the house was not quite 100% complete when we moved in (due to our rushed Christmas deadline) so we have had more contractors finishing up since moving in than is normal. However, the contractors have accommodated our schedules and our site manager has done a wonderful job staying on top of it all. We are very glad we chose and highly recommend Aurora Custom Homes.

My husband and I decided to build our dream home in Ponte Vedra Beach Florida. We had lived through a renovation or two prior to this endeavor, but we had no idea how to navigate through the maze of building from the ground up. We considered ourselves to be extremely fortunate to have had Michael Lenahen recommended to us by a trusted friend. From our first meeting, we knew we were in good hands with Aurora. Michael personally attended every meeting with our architect and guided us through the process. We wanted a house that was distinctive, yet highly functional and easy to entertain in. We wanted a house that flowed effortlessly from the inside to the outside and back again. We wanted a house that could accommodate guests who would feel at home and on vacation at the same time. We wanted high quality, without high maintenance. Aurora skillfully helped us achieve our goals. We have a beautiful home that works equally as well when we are entertaining a dozen friends or sharing a quiet dinner for two. We give Aurora very high marks, not only for the quality of their construction, but also for the expertise they brought to our project to help us achieve the lifestyle we wanted to create.

Michael Lenahen, President and owner of Aurora Builders, is one of the most competent and professional builders in North Florida. I recommend him highly. He built a 13,000 sq. ft. house for us in 2009-2010, incorporating extensive "green" technology and rigorous classical design in an award-winning achievement. Photo-voltaic roof tiles generate electricity. Geothermal heat exchange produces hot water and provides air conditioning. The house is symmetrically designed around strong axes, and incorporates stone window and door surrounds, extensive wood trim and moldings, reclaimed wooden beams, and generous spaces with twelve-foot ceilings.

Aurora Custom Homes refurbished and upgraded my home in Ponte Vedra Beach in two separate projects. We first reviewed what we had in mind with the owner Michael Lenahen who has a background in Architecture.....he was very knowledgeable and helpful in looking at traffic flow, choosing materials and finishes, and staying with the architectural style of our house. Throughout the projects he and his staff were in constant communications which was key to the success in meeting our desired changes. The quality of the performed work and the finished product exceeded our expectations. This was a professionally accomplished job done by knowledgeable craftsmen, completed on time and within budget. The two projects spanned three years(2014-2016).....we would highly recommend Aurora for any size job.

AURORA CUSTOM HOMES/Aurora Builders/Aurora Custom Remodeling has failed to uphold their 1 year warranty on our new construction custom home in Atlantic Beach, FL. We are trying to get them to do the right thing by us almost two years later. They have been unresponsive, direspectful and even deceitful since we paid them in full at the end of our project in October 2015. We have asked them to address several construction defects including water intrusion in multiple areas, complete failure of our stucco system to the point of it falling off of our home and many, many more issues. The most frustrating part is that we now know that Aurora knew about the construction defects with our home even before we closed on it. Aurora withheld critical information regarding the construction defects of our home, encouraged us to pay them in full and to move in as everything was ok. Not only did Aurora breach our trust as our builder on a 3 year project, they continue to cause us substantial financial losses due to ongoing repairs. It is likely that we will have to move out of our "new" construction for a year in order to have it rebuilt by a reputable builder. Please save yourself the heartache and money and use a truly reputable builder in the Jacksonville area. Please contact me directly if you have any Questions.
