About Us

As the lead artist and owner of Chicago Mosaics, I have studied and worked in many mediums but my focus on mosaic art inspires me to create lasting mosaic beauty and interest on murals, fireplaces, back-splashes, walls, floors and sculptural forms. I design and install custom mosaic work in private homes, commercial spaces and public art. Each creation is site specific as I work closely with the client, interior designer or architect to ensure a unique and harmonious mosaic project. Mosaic art can be quite diverse in appearance and sensibility: they can colorful and intense or employ a contemporary and subtle color palette. The materials I use vary from ceramic tile, art glass, bonsai stones and are often used in combination. Please call for a free consultation on a mosaic creation by Chicago Mosaics.

Our gutted and remodeled apartment included a beautiful curved wall. It was dramatic but too stark --all white--and decorating challenges were significant. It couldn't be painted because it continued down a hall, and the curve prevented hanging any art. A mosaic mural from Chicago Mosaics was the perfect solution. Francine created and installed an original abstract design in striking, beautiful blues and greens. She was terrific to work with. Although we have a lot of art, Francine's mosaic mural attracts the most attention and admiration when people visit. Everyone stops in wonder and surprise and reaches up to touch it.

Francine was living in Sonoma when we met her and contracted for her to do a custom mosaic around the front door of our business: Villa Terrazza Patio & Home located in Sonoma. We are on a busy street, and wanted to add a splash of wind country color to our front entryway. We consulted with Francine, who brought us color scheme choices and wildly creative format ideas. Everybody who comes in our store comments on the mosaic, and it has actually generated extra business for her. Rightfully so, her work is exemplary, her creativity unparalleled, and her design aesthetic is spot-on!

Francine of Chicago Mosaic did a fantastic job on my fireplace. The look went from ho-hum to spectacular. She collaborated with me to achieve the look I wanted. Her suggestions were right on target and the result was perfect. The project was completed on time and on budget. She is a pleasure to work with has a terrific design sense.

Commented: Any ideas on what to do with this fireplace?Of course, I would apply mosaics to this fireplace and make it a real center piece for the room...maybe use various colors of natural stone. I would also get rid of the the hearth wings and the brick ...
