About Us

Christopher Lines has created one-of-a-kind garden designs working in the Bay Area and California creating architectural sensations for a variety of clients. He has been a Landscape Designer for 18 Years on the West Coast, with two studio locations: Walnut Creek and Carmel Valley, California. His designs are uniquely tailored to his clients and their personal tastes, taking budget and materials into consideration. This ensures a landscape environment which is truly customized to their desires, making dreams into reality. Christopher Lines has had the privilege of working on many interesting projects, diverse in size and style. One interesting and fun project was “Landscaper’s Challenge” on the HGTV network. He created a backyard Pool redux for a couple in the Hollywood Hills and went on to be the winning Designer. Christopher has also been a part of another great project working with tile designer Sergio Furnari on “The World’s Largest Pool” located in Dubai in the United Emirates. The pool is 600 yards long by 300 yards wide with a myriad of resort features: fire bowls, columns, diving pads, bridges, floating bars, water jets and fountains. He has written numerous articles in Watershapes Magazine, been published in The Robb Report, and featured in Walnut Creek Magazine, as well as additional mentions in Architectural Digest and Sunset Gardens Building Barbecues and Outdoor Kitchens. I was very disappointed with Chris Lines Design. My contract stated that he would complete a front and back yard landscape design in compliance with the Design Guidelines of the development, which required water calculations. Not only did he not read the guidelines, he did not provide water calculations, and wanted to charge me extra for completing what he had agreed to. He used the wrong plant sizes, didn't use enough trees as specified by the guidelines, used grass in small patches which wasn't allowed per the guidelines, and the list goes on! He finally agreed to give me water calculations but threatened to charge me for even the smallest change. Small changes were included in my package with him, but it was clear he was trying to gouge me anywhere he could. He was unreasonable, irrational and all around unprofessional. I would not recommend and will be redoing my plans with someone else. Other designers also told me they have heard his clients have had issues with his work and lack of attention to the details of what is required by the city for approvals.

We had a very complex project building a pool and backyard on a hillside, with strict restrictions from the county and the engineers. Christopher was absolutely amazing. He worked and re-worked his designs to accommodate the restrictions we began facing from the county. His design for our backyard and pool brought to life what we wanted and more. He is incredibly creative, listening to all our design ideas and incorporating things we never even thought of. He is professional, very thorough and incredibly detail oriented while keeping a keen sense of creative ethos. We are so happy with our design and would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who wants someone who will see the project accomplished to perfection! We can’t wait to enjoy our backyard fully this summer and for years to come.

His design work, professionalism and presence stood out immediately. I could tell he was great to work with by the way he freely exchanged ideas with my client and the property owner. I referred Christopher to good friends of mine in San Francisco. He sat and really learned a lot about them. Why they chose to live in SF and where they loved to travel. He took that and designed an amazing outdoor living space for them. Christopher has exquisite taste. I am now having Christopher design my backyard AS WELL as the interior of my home.
