Conscious Construction

The Conscious Construction team was great to work with. We've partnered with them on more than one occasion. They have a wide range of skills and we have worked with them on both a small residential project and a large commercial project. Each time their project managers were on top of any issues that arose. They were flexible and accommodating of the client as their budget and scope changed. They always consulted us on inevitable issues that came up during construction.

We successfully completed a delicate and complex remodel with Conscious Construction this year and we and the homeowners are very happy with the results and how the project was handled. What could have been a difficult situation - Conscious was taking over a project that another general contractor had started but could not complete - ended up with a beautiful result and satisfied clients. It seems Conscious was very sensitive to the owner's need to be involved in every last detail and were accommodating and supportive throughout the process. The results are stunning and the management of several disparate elements was handled seamlessly such as cabinets coming from Germany or visually blending clean contemporary glass stair rails with a very Craftsman-styled home. Unseen were structural issues such as supporting a large stair and landing suspended over the kitchen by removing a couple of structural beams. A deteriorating tiled exterior deck was replaced with a clean Ipe wood deck and slender stainless steel cable railing. All in all a project where the results mirrored a seamless and perfectly handled construction process.

Conscious Construction provided a great service to me. I am a homeowner in Berkeley who had never remodeled my house before (let alone a half million dollar renovation). Jeff and his crew could not have been more helpful and professional. Any concerns or questions that came up were promptly responded to in a courteous and thoughtful manner. Everything they promised was completed in a timely fashion. The quality of work was excellent and I literally have no reservations about wholeheartedly recommending them. An added plus was that the morale among the workers seemed high and everyone was always pleasant as well as focused.

Jeff was so courteous as was his helpers. The work they did in my garage to turn it into a friendly, usable space was amazing! My grandchildren aren't afraid to go there anymore!
