Craig was thorough and communicative throughout the entire build process. We presented to him a particular challenge with rebuilding our home after a water damage event. His attention to details and management of both time, materials and people were a huge bonus to us and allowed us to feel confident that our home was in good hands and that the finished product was going to be beautiful.

From conception of the project to its swift finish, Craig was outstanding! His design Ideas were great but pale in comparison to his enthusiasm! Changes in the middle of the project were no problem and didn’t even affect the schedule. Craig met with all the subcontractors as they arrived at the house, professionally interacted with them, and again the word enthusiastic comes to mind. He made sure all the work was done to his exacting standards and on time. I’m not sure who is more excited about the finished product, my wife or Craig! Alwyn Homes/Craig Austin are at the top of my list for my next home project, and I highly recommend him to be at the top of yours.

After interviewing 3 other builders we decided on Craig Austin of Alwyn Homes because of his extensive experience of quality homes. We also liked the idea of more personal attention and quick start time since Craig has recently scaled back to only one building project a year. Our project was challenging in that it was a nonconventional modern style which did not seem to cause Craig any problems. It was also a combination remodel of an existing home and the addition of a 1700 sq. ft. guest house. This involved 4 decision makers which took longer for decisions in many areas. Craig and his team, were very patient and polite through these delays to their plans. We are very pleased with our new home and would choose Alwyn Homes for any future building projects.

Craig is extremely organized and understands workflow and process in scheduling sub-contractors. He is very creative and has the ability to bring concepts into reality. As a custom homebuilder, he has access to the highest quality subcontractors in the market. His trim carpenters and painters are the best and make all the difference in the finished product. He has built a custom home and did an extensive remodel (>$100M) for my family.

Craig at Alwyn Homes is an absolute gem! My husband and I both work crazy schedules and we really wanted to have a property in the mountains for the whole family to enjoy. While building a home from the ground up can be a daunting task, adding distance makes it a much more of a challenging endeavor. As the project was in FairPlay (an hour and half from home), we were very selective on the person we hired to build/manage the project. We hired Craig to build our mountain home and couldn't be happier with the results. Craig brought his home building expertise, long standing trade relationships and creative approach to every aspect of the process. I started to look into moving out of my current home in order to gain more livable square footage, and it turned out the cost to purchase a home was outrageous. I then started to look into the possibility of expanding my current home to gain square footage, and that is when I was referred to Alwyn Homes by a friend. Craig the owner was wonderful to work with and always stayed on track with deadlines and was so professional. He made me feel super comfortable and always had my best interest in mind every step of they way with this project. In the end the addition added on about 700 hundred square feet and we couldn't be more pleased with the results. I am so glad that I did not make the decision to move because I got everything I wanted and more with this addition. If I ever plan on moving out of this house I will most definitely plan on reaching out to Craig to build me a home from the bottom up. Craig is truly a one of a kind!

It was time for my Mother to live with us, and Craig was able to seamlessly merge our home with the new build of Mom's (so she could be close, yet "on her own")! I just loved how he took care of every detail for my aging Mom. She will be able to live independently for years to come in our/ her beautiful home. We loved the first home Craig designed and built for us so much, we commissioned him to do it again! Our first home built by Craig was the first fully custom home we lived in. As novices to that world, Craig was exquisitely patient with us, helping us turn our vision into reality. We lived in that home for about ten years, but then found ourselves wanting a bit more space. We came across a unique property along a lake, and without hesitation thought of Craig as the builder we wanted. This was a much larger project- some 15,000 square feet on an acre of land- and Craig was very much up to the task. Not only was he diligent about the process, mechanics and budget of building, Craig was a co-collaborator in the design, actively brainstorming with us ways to make our home even more special. There was a time, for example, during framing when we walked the home together that we could realize stunning views from the fourth level of our home. Craig was able to make adjustments to the roof system and trusses and carve in another bedroom in what was the attic space, realizing even more amazing views and minimal incremental cost. It’s that kind of collaboration that sets Craig apart: he really listened to the heart of our vision (including secret passageways and rooms) and worked with us to make it real! Grady and Jan Booch

Craig is a custom builder with a creative, problem solving mindset. I met Craig after I had purchased one of his homes in Castle Pines Village from its original owner. There were many homes available to choose from at the time, but this home stood out clearly above the rest because of it’s quality and craftsmanship throughout the unique custom design. Craig was able to create an enclave complete with wet bar, full bathroom, a conference room and office area with two private decks and a garage for my bikes. He was able to surgically remove the roof above the existing 4-car garage and build the new addition into the home so that after completion it looked like it was always part of the original house. It was very important for me to work with the builder who created the extraordinary home I chose, but I was even more impressed when I had the opportunity to work with Craig on my addition. He has an excellent reputation among his homeowners and it was easy to understand why.
