Deck Helmet

The boards beveled within a year. Have reached out to these guys via emails, text messages , and phone calls several times with no success. The warranty is for two years but their follow up sucks. Stay Away from these people at all costs.

I had old deck and I wanted to renew it. Deck Helmet offered me a good price to renew it. They started the work and finished it. I thought they did it good job. After one year privacy Lattices they put on the fence started to break and falling down. Also, the fence started bending. I called them and ask them if they can fix with cost. I told them clearly I can pay for it just I need someone to fix the issues but they kept telling me some one from Warranty department will call me and nobody called me back. You need to know, once they install the deck with poor quality they will never show up to fix anything even if you want to pay for it.

DO NOT USE DECK HELMET! Their subcontractor did a shoddy job replacing our wooden deck surface with Trex and replacing our stairs. They started by lightly spraying a primer coat of white paint on the support structures and the railings. Even though they laid a plastic tarp down, they still managed to get paint on the stone patio, the stone water features and the adjacent gardens that are under the deck. After removing the wooden deck, I expected the next step would be to put a second credit card thick coat of paint on the exposed structure and railings and get any areas that were missed by the spraying. Instead, they installed the Trex and then hand painted selected areas leaving the overall white features inconsistent and messy. The hand painting also got on the Trex. After they left, I realized that the replaced stairs were not properly aligned and each step was custom made so no two steps matched. I also found trash, tools, screws, saw blades and tape that was left behind. When I complained to Deck Helmet, with a lengthy email and photos, I was told that the subcontractor would come out to fix the problem. I also went online and generated punch lists to further document the areas that needed correcting. After getting no response, I decided to finish the job myself. After two weeks of meticulously taping and painting around the Trex and filling holes and areas that was documented but not addressed, I am now finished. DO NOT USE DECK HELMET!

Lack of communication, did not get calls returned. Overall installation was good. The installation team was very Friendly.

Deck Helmet was effective and completed the work within the 30d window as promised. The new deck looks fabulous. I did have to call them on day 21 to see if the project was ready to kick off, however.

The Deck Helmet crew was friendly, professional and extremely efficient. The 4 week project was completed in about 2 weeks with no trailing punch list. Great job.

The service was excellent, from beginning to end. I greatly appreciate how Eddie explained the step-by-step process, and how each step corresponded with payment planning. Once on site, the foreman was very courteous, let me know what work was being performed each day, and had adequately planned for weather conditions that impeded the work. Altogether, I had a great experience with Deck Helmet. I certainly plan to use them for future work and recommend them to my neighbors. Thank You Deck Helmet for completely transforming my patio. It is a world of a difference between my old patio deck and my Deck Helmet patio deck.

Service was quick. There was a little delay with weather, but things were completed faster than expected. The railings will need to be readjusted, but Deck Helmet workers were very accommodating in getting that done. I would recommend Deck Helmet to others!

Deck Helmet came out to our home shortly after I contacted them and quickly gave us a quote. They were able to start work just a few days later. I was very pleased with Simon and his team. They worked quickly to remove the old deck elements that were no longer being used and replaced it with new parts quickly. They were polite, helpful and worked hard throughout their time here. The end product is fantastic and it looks as though we have a brand new deck. Thank you!

I'm very happy with the deck refacing provided by Deck Helmet. I had received 2 other quotes prior to them, but both had been $10K higher because they provided for spindle and post replacement. Deck Helmet's refacing work was more in my price range and would provide new Trex flooring and new Trex top rails, but the existing spindles, posts, and lattice would be painted with a durable epoxy matching the color of my new Trex boards. They even left the remaining 5 Gallon can of paint for future touchups if/when ever needed. My two decks look absolutely gorgeous for half the price of two competitors. In addition, the sub-contractor for Deck Helmet that performed the work was very professional. The 2 man team worked tirelessly every day until the job was completed. Afterwards, when I noticed a few things I wanted remedied, they promptly responded and completed the work to my satisfaction with no delay. The only negative comment I have, and I'm mentioning so you'll have this information should you decide to contract with them, is that I really wish Jason of Deck Helmet had explained that I had an option of having the floor boards installed with clips in lieu of using screws. Even though the subcontractor explained that screwing the boards made it more durable, I would have had no problem paying a little more to get this cleaner finish.
