Designing Women

Sally and her team somehow manage to combine fun and professionalism in perfect proportions! I've used Designing Women on several projects because I know it will be done right, efficiently and on budget. Plus, they always make it so much fun! I can't wait for the next one!

Initially, I scheduled an appt online and traveled to NC from Phila to purchase furniture for my home. When I arrived, the designers had no knowledge of my appt and claimed that perhaps I scheduled it on a website they no longer used. This should have been my first warning sign!! No one was able to take care of me on that day and so I extended my stay at our hotel. My husband drove home and I decided to fly back the following day after my shopping excursion. I was so excited and my hope was that I would furnish my entire home and not have a worry, especially since I had hired a professional interior designer. The following day I met with sally and basically went on a shopping spree. It was fun...I completely trusted her to guide me with all of the selections made. I returned several weeks later to finish buying a few pieces I still needed. Sally shopped with me this day as well. Naively, I followed her lead and trusted that she had been selecting pieces that coordinated with each other. Later, I found that she only took me to the stores where she had arrangements with specific salespeople for kick-backs. After I made my purchase and returned home to PA, Sally disappeared off the face of the earth. She failed to return all of my phone calls, nor did she ever reply to my emails despite my attempts to reach her numerous times. The furniture we ordered took several months (approx 5 mos) to be delivered. When it was finally delivered, the chairs were damaged, my white sofas were dirty, I can go on and on...I reached out to her for help and my call for help fell on deaf ears. I spent over $20k of which I'm sure Sally earned a nice commission from kickbacks. I was extremely disappointed, I trusted this woman to help me buy furniture and wisely spend my hard earned money...I realize now that she did not care one bit about what I purchased nor whether it went well with the rest of the decor. She cared less about my level of satisfaction! The worst was trying to reach her and after several unsuccessful attempts realizing that my business was not valued nor important to Sally. It was quite embarrassing especially as my family asked what happened to the furniture I worked so hard to be able to buy. It turned out to be a fiasco and $20k poorly spent. Perhaps my $20k budget was on a low scale for her and not worth her time, not sure....what I do know is that I now have a living and dining room with mismatched furniture, and all is still incomplete to this day, after having spent the $20k. If you decide to work with this company, be careful...be sure to ask whether or not they're recg kickbacks. Obviously, kickbacks will influence where you shop , what you buy, and the salesperson you'll work with at the store. This happened just about a year ago, I thought long and hard about posting a negative review...I was treated terribly and I don't believe anyone deserves the poor customer service I recvd after I made my purchase and returned to PA. BUYER BEWARE! Truly...it was a very disheartening situation which I and regret and am truly ashamed of.

We worked closely with Kirsten Hart at Designing Women furnishing a new home. She has a wonderful eye for furnishings and fabrics. Kirsten has great relationships with furniture and fabric vendors. The upholstery team she works with is first-rate. Kirsten was incredibly efficient in working with us and did a terrific job making a challenging project manageable. On move-in day, she even helped us to place our old furniture more creatively! We love our new home and are delighted to recommend Kirsten and the Designing Women team.

Sally and Donna are the best!!! We met them at the Hickory Furniture Mart. Sally visited our home and took dozens of photos. A few weeks later we met with Sally and her equally competent colleague, Donna. They had put together a plan for each room in the house and a theme that tied it all together. Pervious to our visit they had toured the Furniture Mart and selected numerous examples or each item for us to look at, as we planned out each room. We then looked at fabrics, carpets, lamps, finishes, and colors, not only for the upholstery and furniture, but also for the walls. Everything was tied together beautifully. They then took our existing furniture and placed each piece in the plan! It is beautiful, every piece complementing the other. Sally and Donna are personable, professional, have a wonderful sense of humor, and guided us through the entire process. What we thought would be overwhelming turned out to be enjoyable with excellent results. Eighteen months later we continue to enjoy the results. We highly recommend their interior design skills to anyone wishing to have an extraordinary outcome. Kudos to these talented women.

Sally Bentley and her team at Designing Women have consistently provided our family with the caliber of interior design guidance one might expect to find only in cities like Atlanta or NYC. Sally is a visionary who can see the completed project, as well as a "details" person, making sure the most practical concerns are addressed in any home project. She also makes the tedious and frustrating parts of home renovation very pleasant with her wonderful sense of humor. As each project ends, we hate to see her go!

Working with Designing Women was such a great experience!! They seemed to make everything so easy and fun and catered to my needs as well as my husbands! They stayed within our budget and helped us capture the look and style we wanted and desired! Best Money we have spent throughout the entire home furnishing project. I highly recommend these ladies they are truly talented at what they do!
