Dickerson Construction is a building company. We believe that the perspective and experience we bring from our deep roots in the carpentry trades makes us a better custom home builder and distinguishes us from other builders in the area. We can work with your designer or architect to help facilitate the process. We are committed to excellent customer service and fiscal responsibility from the very first step to the last and beyond. DCI is experienced with many building styles and technologies. We have built a wide variety of homes, ranging from mountain-rustic log homes to contemporary homes all designed to embrace mountain living. DCI's experience as a custom home builder also includes sustainable building materials and methods, including solar heating and photo-voltaic systems. We have advanced framing techniques for superior insulation and energy efficiency. Every project has a site supervisor/lead carpenter, with years of hands-on experience building custom homes, as well as an experienced in-house carpentry crew that has worked together for many years framing as well as finish and custom cabinetry. Eric Dickerson, owner of DCI has been building quality custom homes in Colorado since 1986. Eric started working in the construction trades in 1977 as a college student. After graduating from Wichita State in 1981 he continued working in the carpentry trades, specializing in framing and exterior finishes. He was first based in Louisville, Colorado and then in 1986 started DCI in Boulder, Colorado. He moved the company to Ridgway, Colorado in 1995.

We hired Dickerson Construction to build our new home in Ridgway, Colorado. From the very beginning of our project, Eric was incredibly helpful with things like connecting us with the architect we ended up selecting (Liana Schmidt, Silver Mountain Design) and working with us to get to a solid budget that would be workable. Once construction started, it was clear that Eric has assembled a skilled, professional crew and a solid network of subcontractors. Although Eric runs a great construction operation, the thing we appreciate most about him and his team is their honesty and integrity. His crew members always did what they said they would do and completed all of their projects with a high level of professionalism and quality. Eric also contributed a lot of ideas throughout the project that improved the final result or solved problems along the way. We also appreciate that our project came in quite close to the agreed upon budget, with Eric and his team doing a good job of managing the budget throughout the process. We have recommended Eric to others and if we were going to build another home, we would select Dickerson Construction for the project without hesitation.

Dickerson Construction built our custom home and if I were to build another house, I would hire them again without hesitating. For many reasons ours was a complicated project and Dickerson Construction handled the challenges of the project with professionalism and a strong commitment to deliver a quality house. Dickerson Construction stands by its work and even now that the house is over 10yrs old, they continue to be a resource for us as we handle ongoing maintenance and make improvements.

Dickerson Construction did an amazing job with out Ridgway remodel. Throughout the entire project we were kept up to date on the plan, progress, expenses, challenges, etc. The workers were considerate and made every effort to make sure we were inconvenienced as little as possible. We are thrilled with how our project turned out. We now have a great area for entertaining, big beautiful windows, an awesome island and all the insulation work has made our previously drafty home warm and comfortable on even the coldest of nights. Tour some of Eric Dickerson’s projects and you will see that they are well built with strong attention to detail. DCI has a deep bench of reliable sub contractors and a very strong in-house framing and finish carpentry crew. Our project was complex, using a mix of heavy white oak timber framing and standard framing with an unusual (for Ridgway) wall insulation system and took a year and a half to complete. In addition, the architect completed the overall construction drawings for the project but the homeowner completed all the interior design drawings – a potential recipe for disaster! Eric’s team worked through it all with a cheerful demeanor that made our daily visits to the job site rewarding and enjoyable. The finished product speaks for itself – you should interview Dickerson Construction if you are considering building in this part of Colorado.

We hired Eric to build our home in 2012. It is in a remote rural location with heavy winter snowfall. We had numerous unexpected challenges, including cement trucks sinking in mud to their axles when the incoming roadway thawed in the spring. Through it all, Eric was there to pull us through. He is smart, innovative and practical. And we cannot say enough good things about his crew. They are experienced, skilled craftsmen who were on the job from framing to finish. We have worked with Dickerson Construction on several new homes where we provided a solar power system. The homes were all very energy efficient and well built. Integrating the solar system was easy due to timing of the construction phases. Dickerson is certainly a top notch builder in the Ridgway, Colorado area and the crew is the best you can find.

Eric and his crew, he has kept many of his workers over the years because they are good, are very particular about doing a good job and take pride in their professionalism and quality of work. Interaction with Eric to problem solve and advice to rectify planning and architectural issues is outstanding. Always available to talk about issues and answers the phone when you call! I have no problem in recommending him as a builder. Eric built our house in San Juan Ranch and 8 years later we again contracted him to add an extension with the same good results.
